Sources close to East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry confirm for 7 News that the surrogate mother for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick gave birth to twins last night.

Sources tell 7 News Reporter Dave Elias that Parker and Broderick spent the day at the hospital with the surrogate.

We are also learning that Parker and Broderick are expected to make some type of announcement before they leave the hospital.

However, Hospital Spokesperson Maggie Espina would not confirm or deny our reports. She would only say that the hospital has no comment at this time.

Security at the hospital is tight this morning. We’re told additional guards have been brought in and even more are on standby, if needed, as this story is expected to get national attention.

7 News cameras are there. We will have a live report from the hospital today at Noon.

All of this comes on the heels of an investigation that centers on the Martins Ferry Police Chief and nearby Chief Chad Dojack who allegedly conspired to break into the home belonging to surrogate mother and allegedly take pictures of plaster paris mold the woman had made outlining her pregnant stomach.

Harrison County Prosecutor Shawn Hervey tells wtrf.com that the investigation is still ongoing.

We have just confirmed today that BCI officials will be in town on Wednesday talking with more police officers who may have had knowledge about the event.

This is a strange, strange story. It seems that two Ohio police chiefs are being investigated for breaking into the surrogate of Sarah Jessica Parker’s baby. The reason? To dig up dirt for the tabloids and hoping to make a quick score. According to E!, a court prosecutor has been appointed to look into the charges.

Can you imagine two police chiefs doing this? This isn’t just two guys off the street or two rookie cops. This was the chiefs of two separate Ohio towns. The television station WTRF says that the surrogate doesn’t even live in the house anymore which was broken into. Allegedly. I can’t believe someone put these two idiots in charge of the police in their respective cities. One of the cities is Martina Ferry which is where the surrogate lived. You would think the chief would have known she moved out already. Of course you would think a chief would also be moral enough to not break into a house to sell dirt to tabloids. I’m guessing neither of these guys are the smartest people in the world.

Attention straight men of the world: Time to work on that excuse for why you can’t go see the Sex and the City movie sequel with your girl. ‘Cause as of today, it is officially in the works.

“They’re in negotiations,” a rep for Warner Brothers Studios has just confirmed to us.

This comes after Kim Cattrall appeared on Britian’s The Paul O’Grady Show, with guest-host Spice Girl Melanie Brown. When asked point-blank if there will be a sequel to the movie blockbuster, Cattrall replied emphatically…

“Yes, there will!”

The 52-year-old actress went on to say, “We will do the sequel next summer. We wanted to the first time, and now we’re hopefully doing it again for the second time.”

She also admitted it is “difficult getting everybody who’s so incredibly busy all together at the same time.”

The first Sex and the City: The Movie, starring Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, was a huge hit earlier this year, earning more than $153 million in the U.S. and distributed worldwide.

In September, writer-director Michael Patrick King hinted to E.W. he was willing to do more: “It doesn’t feel done to me at all. It feels like it generated a whole new burst of enthusiasm for these characters. If I could come up with a really fun, worthy story it would certainly be a great chance to do it again.”

In another sign the world is collapsing as we speak, Sarah Jessica Parker is claiming that the apartments surrounding her apartment are now not filled with regular tenants, but instead are filled with paps who basically have her surrounded 24 hours a day. Now, I know that my math skills do not extend much beyond what I can do with my fingers and toes but to me this seems, if true, a colossal waste of money.

How much money can a juicy photo of Sarah Jessica Parker generate? I mean do they really think she is going to bring some guy back to her place and have sex with him on the front stoop just so the paps can get a good photo? The only photos anyone ever gets of her are her walking down the street, going into a store, out of a store. Who the f**k cares? They can do all of that from outside in the street. I just don’t think that Sarah or Matthew are going to do anything stupid enough to warrant the prohibitive cost of renting a NY apartment. Does seeing a photo of Sarah walking with her kid on page 63 of a magazine make you more likely to buy the damn magazine? So, where is the market?

The only thing I can guess is that perhaps the paps are in the apartments for other reasons or have other tools other than cameras to catch some type of illicit remark or conversation. Of course that would be illegal, but can always be attributed to an unnamed source or insider. I guess if you have a parabolic mike or a bug that would certainly be an insider and would probably actually lead to revelations that would get a cover story and sell magazines.

“Photographers moved into apartments next door to us and we really found ourselves kind of living like a spy movie… I feel like they think they have to be there. Like they punch in or something.”

According to NY Magazine, Sarah and Matthew have had enough of the intrusion and so are about to purchase an $18M home that would keep all their secrets a secret.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s refusal to submit to the surgeon’s scalpel marked her out in an industry where cosmetic surgery is the norm.

But she has finally bowed to pressure to have her distinctive mole removed.

The decision followed increasing criticism and downright abuse from fans who complained that they found it ‘distracting’.

The distinctive beauty spot was firmly in evidence in May, at the London premiere of the Sex and the City movie in Leicester Square. It was still there last month at a charity event in New York.

But only a faint mark remained where the mole used to be when the 43-year-old fashion icon attended a baseball game in the Big Apple.

The publicist for the actress known to many by her initials SJP insisted yesterday that she had not undergone cosmetic surgery.

She said: ‘Nothing has been removed.’ But the transformation from prominent mole to almost invisible blemish seemed far too dramatic to be the result of make-up artistry.

And a few hours later, a source close to the star confirmed that she had the mole removed in the past two weeks.

he source said: ‘I don’t know when exactly she had it done but she has definitely had a procedure. She’s kept it really quiet though.’

Miss Parker’s fellow thespian Ewan McGregor had two moles removed from his face last year following a trip round Africa.

He said: ‘I just went to have them checked. You have to be careful with moles if you’re pale-skinned and you spend time in the sun. So I went to see a specialist who thought they were better to be removed and indeed he was correct.’

Former supermodel Cindy Crawford, 42, still has a dark mole above her top lip, however.

She was encouraged to have it removed at the beginning of her career but refused - and it didn’t do her earning power any harm.

Kate Sowerbutts, clinical nurse specialist at the Mole Clinic in London, said: ‘Sarah Jessica Parker looks like she has a compound mole which is quite unlikely to be cancerous. It is more likely she had it removed for cosmetic purposes.

‘These type of inherited moles continue to grow and grow as we get older which may account for why she decided to have it removed. It’s such an easy procedure, she would have been home within an hour.’

There may be a problem with a film when a narrator constantly tells you the meaning of what you have just seen, gift-wrapping each scene with a moral.

There may be a problem with characters who shop with such conviction while the audience looks up from the trough of a credit crunch.

There may be a problem with stretching Sex and the City into a two hour and twenty minute film - it can feel like a never ending dinner party: however pleasant the courses, after a while you can hardly eat another one.

None of these problems seemed apparent to the women who sat around me in the cinema in Leicester Square, laughing and weeping in quick succession. After a while I began to reason like one of the characters: maybe the problem was me.

Everyone else, being in possession of more than one X chromosome, seemed entirely satisfied by what they were served.

The dialogue was still sharp even if, to an audience now rather more used to women characters talking frankly about sex, it may no longer seem so daring.

There were still attempts to shock. Now they were talking about sex in front of a child, referring to the act euphemistically as “colouring”. How often did Miranda do colouring? Not nearly enough. Samantha, the goddess single of older women, of course liked to use all the crayons, while Carrie Bradshaw, our narrator and lead, said that when Big coloured “he doesn’t always stay inside the lines.”

Perhaps the child was needed to remind us that this was shocking, because since the series began, we have all become a lot more grown up.

If the atmosphere inside the cinema bordered on the devotional and the theatre was filled with the sounds of women emoting, outside the atmosphere was hysterical.

New Line, the studio behind the film, had attempted to pacify critics, curious as to why a film in which a major character is the city of New York, should open first in London.

The company claimed that the event would be “much smaller” than the New York premier, but all four women were there in their heels and dresses, and thousands had arrived to see them and scream their names.

Each in turn diplomatically affirmed their love of the city and denied or brushed aside rumours of tensions between the them during filming.

If none of the four actresses has enjoyed comparable success since the end of the series four years ago, the crowds cheered louder than they have for established film stars. Many felt they were welcoming back friends who had lived on their screens for six years and were returning for one last blast.

It was almost as if the director was feeling the nostalgia. The opening scenes are broken up with musical montages, softly lit like Hallmark adverts.

Carrie Bradshaw, (Sarah Jessica Parker), is finally to marry her Mr Big (Chris Noth). The news features in New York gossip columns, she is the forty-year-old bride featured in a wedding edition of Vogue.

The plot twists and turns like that of a pot boiler. Having inspired an entire genre of ‘chick lit’, Sex and the City the film feeds off its own progeny. Is it a film, one wonders, or an extended soap opera, will any of these crises be resolved and, if they are, will it matter, for they will surely soon plunge themselves into another dilemma, for which the only cure is an expansive shopping trip.

At the last, there is at least a brief concession to the meaner times in which we live now. And at the last, does Carrie finally marry her Mr Big? Well, dear reader, I can tell you that she…
