She’s an Oscar-winning actress and one of Hollywood’s hottest stars — but even Reese Witherspoon’s children, 9-year-old daughter Ava & 6-year-old-son Deacon, are surprisingly “embarrassed” of their uber-famous mom.

“My children are embarrassed at me all the time. They’re like ‘mom you’re being really stupid’,”Witherspoon told us in a recent interview. “When ‘Monsters vs. Aliens’ came out Ava told me I’m the coolest mom in the third grade. I said ‘can you put it on a piece of paper and sign it for me please’. I was cool once.”

And as cool and yet hot as the majority of men (and women) think Witherspoon is, she won’t be baring too much for the lights and camera.

“I had my first baby when I was 23, so for me, no. I’ve always been choosing roles knowing that I have a daughter and I have a responsibility to her and to the world to be representing women of strength,” the 33-year-old added. “These are the women I know in life. I think it’s a natural extension of parenthood for you to feel like you’re responsible for the worlds you create, whether they be silly or serious. I think you are responsible for the art you put in the world.”

While these are certainly inspiring words of wisdom, don’t be fooled — this mama was more than happy to embrace her childhood habits while lending her voice to “Monsters vs. Aliens”.

“It’s definitely not hard. It’s like you go in and it’s about how imaginative you can be. For me, that’s just a fantastic opportunity to be free and act like a 5-year-old,” Witherspoon added. “We just go in the sound booth and be silly and eat candy and drink caffeine and bounce off the walls. The older I get the more I regress. I really have just become very silly.”

Reese Witherspoon was out doing her best Ricky Henderson this weekend as she was playing softball. While at the Tate Museum in London, actress Reese Witherspoon politely asked if the person who just took a picture of her could delete it. Witherspoon felt it was kind of weird to sneak a photo right behind her back like that, then suggested if they wanted a photo to simply ask for one. The person told Witherspoon that she wasn’t taking a photo of the actress, but of her child who happened to be standing behind her. Witherspoon quickly apologized and returned to her family. The woman leaned over to her friend and whispered, “Sucker. I was so taking her picture.”

Us Weekly reports in its latest issue, on newsstands now, that Gyllenhaal has quietly moved into Witherspoon’s $5 million L.A. home and is already part of her fiercely guarded family.

The actor, 27, is even helping to raise her two kids – Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4 – from her former marriage to Ryan Phillippe.

“Marriage is definitely what they are working toward,” a source close to the actress, 32, tells Us of the couple who’ve been together for a year.

“They literally don’t want to spend any time away from each other,” a Witherspoon pal adds.

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe finalized their divorce on Thursday, Extra reports.

Details weren’t immediately available.

According to documents dated June 12, the two — who were seeking shared custody arrangement over children Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4 — “have settled all their remaining issues in these proceedings.”

Witherspoon filed for divorce in 2006, citing irreconcilable differences.

“After the divorce, I was a physical wreck. I wanted to die,” Phillippe told the Autumn-Winter 2007-2008 of U.K. magazine Man About Town. “I was ready to kill myself. I was not taking care of myself at all. I would wake up and cry and vomit.”

Witherspoon is now dating Jake Gyllenhaal.

“He’s a good dude,” Phillippe said of the actor. “I love her, and I want her to be happy, and it seems like she is.”

Phillippe recently stepped out with his Stop-Loss co-star Abbie Cornish, whom he dated after his split with Witherspoon.

The Brokeback Mountain hunk has been romantically involved with divorced mother-of-two Witherspoon since meeting on the set of their 2007 film Rendition.

The couple has been inseparable since, and, according to OK!, Gyllenhaal has made his intention to begin a family with Witherspoon clear - despite having yet to propose.

A source says, “He knows he might be jumping the gun thinking of kids, but he knows that Reese is the one. He laughs and says he needs to propose and do this the right way. It really is first comes love, then comes marriage…

Witherspoon’s eight-year marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe ended in 2006, and their divorce was finalized on October 5th. The former couple has two children together, eight-year-old Ava and four-year-old Deacon.

Reese Witherspoon has been bragging on her daughter Ava for making cupcakes and then selling them in front of the house to raise money for breast cancer research. I think it is amazing, and I can see why Reese was bragging. Reese said that Ava raised $100 in 2007 selling the cupcakes.

Ummm. $100? Last I checked Reese lived in Brentwood. Even if Ava is charging a quarter or something for each cupcake which is possible, you would think that one of the multi-millionaires having noticed the sign that said the proceeds were going to breast cancer research and the fact that it is Reese’s daughter would have coughed up a $20 or $100 bill. I can’t imagine anyone anywhere in the country who wouldn’t give the kid more than they were asking when they know it is going to a good cause.

And you know it is because I highly doubt that Ava was left outside unsupervised. $100? The maids in the houses probably find that much laying around in the cushions of the couch each day. When Ava gets her cooking on again this year I expect all of Reese’s neighbors to make a larger contribution. Yes, I know her neighbors don’t read this blog, but their kids and employees, do and so you convince them to each give $100 to Ava for each cupcake.
