ORLANDO Bloom has landed another lucrative trilogy. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor has landed the lead role in Disney’s “Prince of Persia” in a deal worth a reported $40 million. The 31-year-old Brit beat Zac Efron and David K. Zandi, who claimed to be a real-life Persian prince and campaigned for the role by declaring he’d won a poll of 17 million viewers. The new films, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and based on the same-named video game, will be the third trilogy for Bloom, who also appeared in the “Lord of the Rings” movies.

Hollywood star Orlando Bloom has upset movie bosses on his latest film An Education, after he pulled out of the project just days before it was to began shooting.The Pirates Of The Caribbean hunk was signed to star in the film, but had to cancel because of a last minute schedule conflict.The star has been replaced by Dominic Cooper, a relative unknown British actor who starred in the 2006 big screen adaptation of Alan Bennett’s play The History Boys. Producers had to act quickly to find a replacement for Bloom after shooting began last week on the movie. Cooper will play a thirty something playboy in the coming-of-age drama who turns the life of a 17-year-old girl upside down in early-1960s London.

Orlando Bloom is out on a tour spending time with unfortunate kids in Nepal. He has paid a four-day visit to schools and villages in a remote area of Nepal as a United Nations Children’s Fund international ambassador.

He visited the western districts of Kaski and Chitwan. According to the Unicef site these areas are said to be the poorest and backward sectors of Nepal.

The 30-year-old spoke about hygiene and importance of education at these villages.

He also performed a small role in a radio drama. The theme of the drama revolved around encouraging teenagers to share their worries.

The actor was given royal treatment. The local crowd and women welcomed him with garlands and the traditional “Tikka” on the forehead.

Orlando did have a good time there. Fans out there must be wishing as to why they weren’t born in Nepal. At least that way they would have got to look at Orlando.

ORLANDO BLOOM was really embarrassed when his dog snapped at the sight of Irish comic dog’s pet.

The Hollywood actor was invited as a guest on The Graham Norton Show last year (07) with his furry friend in tow; he requested Irish funnyman to introduce his own dogs to Bloom’s pet.

But Norton soon regretted his decision when the actor’s animal bared its teeth and launched a “vicious” attack on his dog Bailey.

Norton tells Britain’s Heat magazine, “Orlando Bloom brought his dog along to the show and I said, ‘I have my two dogs here. Would they like to meet?’ And he said, ‘That’s a great idea.’ So I bring them to his dressing room for a meeting and his dog just goes really vicious and attacks my dog Bailey.

“And Orlando goes, ‘Oh, sometimes he’s a bit odd with other dogs… I got him in a Moroccan street market.’ Then I read somewhere that it had attacked another dog in Hampstead (England). That’s a wild dog!”

Actor ORLANDO BLOOM has done something really shocking.

The actor has shocked neighbors in Los Angeles by painting his $2.7 million (£1.35 million) mansion completely black.
Stars who share their residencies along with Orlando in Outpost Drive – are Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron.

These actors paint their homes white to reflect the sunlight. All the houses in the row are painted white.

And, the Pirates of the Caribbean star has opted to paint the outside walls black.

Sources state that, “Charlize and Scarlett were a bit taken aback.

“Most go for white, but Orlando went completely the other way. It’s a bit weird, but that’s Orlando - he’s an original guy.”
