Nicole Richie got her drivers license back last week. How come no one told me? I have been driving in the same city as an on the loose Nicole Richie for 11 days, and didn’t know it. Her license was suspended for one year, and that suspension ended last week. Now she is just on a restricted license, which when you are a celebrity means jack crap. For a working stiff it means you can drive yourself to and from work and that’s it. For a celebrity though they can claim almost anything is work related because if you are famous enough you will get your photo taken and that contributes to your career success and lets face it, if she wants to go out to dinner she can call the place and say I am coming to eat there, give me $500 and they would probably do it so it becomes work related.

Now, she still does have six more months of DUI classes. Do you think she will make it through the remaining six months without getting busted again? Do you think she learned her lesson? See, I think she did learn her lesson, but that she is very strong willed and has a temper. Therefore I think if she was hammered and got into an argument that her lesson would be forgotten and she would get behind the wheel just out of spite. I’m hoping that the fact she has a child would dissuade her from that, but you never know. I do know that if she pulled a Richie Sambora that Joel Madden would take the kid away from her.

I say she gets pulled over before the six months is up because there is something going on with her that is going to crack here very soon.

Star is reporting in their latest issue that Nicole Richie left Joel Madden. Yes she did. How long did she stay gone? One night. Apparently she spent more time packing up all her crap and loading it into the car then she did actually outside of the house. Star doesn’t report who the hell unloaded all the stuff from her car wherever the heck she went, then put it back in her car in the morning when she left and then finally back where it all started. By that time she probably didn’t even care and so probably no one did unload it and it is all piled high in the back seat of her car, hiding Harlow from view whenever they go out.

Apparently it all started when the happy couple were in New York for Fashion Week. For some surprising reason, Joel didn’t want to go to anymore fashion shows or sit around and talk about next season’s hottest new styles and instead went to the Video Music Awards. Nicole was pissed and felt that Joel should have given up more of his manhood and stayed with her.

Joel, sitting next to, and cuddling Mischa Barton at an after party and being caught on film didn’t make Nicole very happy either. Well, it wouldn’t make me happy either Nicole if I were a woman. I mean if Joel thinks Mischa Barton is a step up, then I would be pretty pissed as well. Although Joel could be moving backwards. He was with Hilary Duff, then Nicole Richie. If he moved onto Mischa Barton, the only lower rung would be Denise Richards, and then you turn to guys.

Socialite and new mother Nicole Richie is having a television comeback by turning her 2005 book The Truth About Diamonds into a new drama series.The former Simple Life star recently shot a cameo role for hit sitcom Chuck and now looks set to star in a new production based on her own coming-of-age novel. Richie has signed up as a producer on the series and will also appear in the show, although it is not yet known whether she will be tackling the lead role. She tells Eonline, “I would definitely produce and definitely be in the show.I don’t know if I need to be the star of this show. I’ve got a lot going on right now.” The books tells the story of a young girl adopted by a superstar musician who hits the Hollywood party scene and ends up in rehab.It is thought to be a thinly-veiled memoir of Richie’s own life.The actress is currently working on her second novel, although she refuses to give away any of the details. She adds, “I’m not telling you (the plot). It’s not finished.”

Reports emerged the 26-year-old had been escorted from the city’s Hard Rock Hotel and Casino following an argument with an unidentified women over a taxi while spending the weekend in Sin City. But a spokesman for the star tells TMZ.com, “She was in Vegas but there wasn’t an altercation of any kind involving her.”

For Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, the wedding bells can wait – at least for a little while.

“We don’t have any plans for that right now,” Madden told PEOPLE on Wednesday. “We’re just happy, and we’re being a family, and that’s where we’re at right now. But marriage means something different to everyone.”

As a celebrity DJ at the Oakley/Suzuki Celebrity Ride Day event in Perris, Calif., Madden took turns spinning records, and quelling notions of a summer rush to the altar.

Former Simple Life star Nicole Richie, 26, will expand her presence on the small screen this fall, when she appears in an episode of the NBC comedy Chuck, the network announced exclusively to PEOPLE. And Richie will be playing a role all too familiar in Young Hollywood: the Mean Girl.

According to NBC, Richie will play a “snarky and spiteful girl who tortured” actress Yvonne Strahovski’s character in high school. In the episode, airing sometime this fall, Strahovski’s character, Special Agent Sarah Walker, “must face her fears when she is forced to attend her 10-year high school reunion,” for a mission with costar Zachary Levi (Chuck) as her date.

Chuck’s executive producer Josh Schwartz says, “Nicole auditioned for the part and was very funny. This role is a great opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills and be diabolically evil and kick some butt. It’s going to be really fun.”

Richie has also guest-starred on 8 Simple Rules … for Dating My Teenage Daughter and American Dreams.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were spied house hunting in Beverly Hills Wednesday.

One option the couple visited, according to a source, was a $1.6 million Beverly Hills house that is described as a Cape Cod mini-estate. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a Jacuzzi tub, pool and a kitchen outfitted with state-of-the-art Viking and Sub-Zero appliances.

“They spent a lot of time looking at the house,” an eyewitness tells E! News. “They were clearly interested. It is a perfect place for them because it is walled in.”

Nicole, Joel and baby Harlow—who didn’t join her parents yesterday—currently live at Madden’s house in Glendale, which he bought down the street from his brother Joel’s house when he was single.

And with rumors of Richie and Madden getting married later this month, the couple’s recent house hunting is adding fuel to the fire.
In addition, a source tells E! News that Madden’s father, who lives in Maryland, is in town this week to spend more time with his sons and his granddaughter.

It’s not easy raising a celebutante. Take it from Lionel Richie. The singer was accepting the “Icon” honor at Sunday night’s taping of the TV Land Awards, when he got applause and a laugh at daughter Nicole’s expense.

“Forget about surviving 40 years in the music business,” Lionel Richie told the audience. “Just surviving 27 years of Nicole Richie has been a struggle-and-a-half, I want to tell you. I stand here as a survivor, I want you to know, for all the parents out there.”

In 2007, Nicole Richie spent 82 minutes in jail after being convicted of driving under the influence of drugs. She was arrested in December 2006 after witnesses reported seeing her Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle headed the wrong way on a freeway in Burbank, Calif.

Nicole, who made a name for herself on Fox’s “The Simple Life” along with Paris Hilton, hasn’t posed for any mug shots lately. Rather, she has been spotted out and about with 3-month-old Harlow, her daughter with Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden.

The sixth annual TV Land Awards are scheduled to air June 15 on the cable network.
