Perhaps it’s a case of too much baby lifting, because new dad Keith Urban has been diagnosed with a slipped disc, his publicist, Paul Freundlich, confirms to PEOPLE.

The rep wouldn’t comment on what caused the injury, but says it won’t affect the singer’s touring schedule.

Urban, 40, mentioned the setback to fans at a concert Saturday night at the Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa in Kelseyville, Calif., but, according to CMT.com, he went on to deliver an enthusiastic performance.

The singer has been dividing his time between Australia – where he, wife Nicole Kidman and their 7-week old daughter, Sunday Rose, have been visiting family – and his North American tour dates.

Next up is a headliner slot at this weekend’s Country Rocks Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to be followed by a Sept. 5 appearance in New York City’s Columbus Circle for the NFL’s Kickoff Show.

Keith Urban has shown his devotion to Nicole Kidman with a new tattoo boasting her name.

The country music singer had his arm inked with his wife-of-one-year’s name just weeks before she gave birth to daughter Sunday Rose. The proud dad showed off his decorated bicep as he headed through Los Angeles airport at the weekend.

The tattoo is not Urban’s first. He already has Amor Vincit Omnia on his arm, which reads Love Conquers in Latin.

He and then girlfriend, supermodel Niki Taylor, had the matching tattoos during their relationship in the 90s.

He has now had this altered to include Nicole’s initials.

Talk about a surprise party.

After Keith Urban sang “Who Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me” for pregnant wife Nicole Kidman, the country star announced to the Chicago Soldier Field crowd Saturday night that she just had a birthday the day before.

“So it would be nice to have 50,000 people sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to her,” he said – and brought Kidman on stage for a stadium-sized sing-a-long for the actress, who turned 41 on Friday.

A surprised and glowing Kidman, in a long flowing black floral tank top dress, blew the audience a kiss and returned backstage when the song finished. The couple are awaiting the birth of their first child, due any day.

Sun, sand, surf and a super star to boot! Nicole Kidman surprised beach goers in Australia as she arrived for a day by the ocean in her native Australia yesterday.

The Hollywood star traded in her two piece bikini for a more demure Billabong rash vest and white towel, keeping her pale skin, and of course her baby bump, under wraps.

The star flew from Sydney to the beach side town of Byron Bay via private jet on Thursday, where she joined her country rocker husband.

She received a warm welcomed at the airport by Keith, who is in town to play The East Coast Blues and Roots Festival.

He is scheduled to perform a string of concerts in Australia before returning to the US for show in Baltimore on April 9.
