Nicole Riche and Joel Madden have finally set a date and according to OK! it is on their daughter Harlow’s first birthday on January 11th.

A friend of the pair said: “They want to set an example for Harlow. Nicole and Joel are doing this to seal their love legally.”They want the ceremony to coincide with Harlow’s first birthday and be one big joyous occasion for everybody.”

If it is true, that is a sweet date to get married.

Proud papa Joel Madden is thrilled to hear that pals Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz have welcomed a new son, Bronx Mowgli. He’s sure they can handle it.

“They are going to be great parents,” Madden told PEOPLE Saturday while celebrating Good Charlotte’s upcoming remix album at Hollywood’s ECCO Ultra Lounge. “They both have really big hearts. I wish them the best. I know they have their hands full right now but I’m excited for them.”

And Madden can recognize good parenting. He and Nicole Richie have adopted a very hands-on approach when dealing with daughter Harlow. Richie even makes homemade baby food for their 10-month-old daughter.

“Her first food was sweet potatoes and she loved it,” Richie recently told PEOPLE. “She ate the whole thing and it was all over the place – in her hair, on her nose, everywhere!”

The key to being loving parents, Madden says, is the backing of a supportive partner. “She’s supportive,” Madden said of Richie, who watched him give interviews from the event’s VIP lounge.

For Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, the wedding bells can wait – at least for a little while.

“We don’t have any plans for that right now,” Madden told PEOPLE on Wednesday. “We’re just happy, and we’re being a family, and that’s where we’re at right now. But marriage means something different to everyone.”

As a celebrity DJ at the Oakley/Suzuki Celebrity Ride Day event in Perris, Calif., Madden took turns spinning records, and quelling notions of a summer rush to the altar.

“Right now we’re really happy,” the Good Charlotte frontman says, “and we’re concentrating on our family, and that’s what is making us happy right now. We’re moving at our own pace.”

The new father has his mind now on raising little daughter Harlow. “It’s crazy,” he says. “Every day she does something new. When she reaches for me, it’s awesome! Just watching her grow, it melts me!”

Am I the only who can’t tell birthday boys Benji and Joel Madden apart? I think the one with the facial hair is Joel who is with Nicole Richie and the one with the DCMA shirt is Benji and he is dating Paris Hilton…or is it the other way around? Whatever I wonder the girls get them confused too…now that would be hot!

BTW you should see me try to tell The Olsen twins apart because I have never been successful at that one either. If anyone has pointers it would be very much appreciated!

According to Us Weekly, producers offered Nicole Richie the role of Roxie Hart in a Broadway production of Chicago. The new mom is reportedly undecided, but interested and talking it over with baby-daddy Joel Madden.

“She’s definitely interested and weighing it out with the timing of the baby,” a Richie pal tells Us. “It is in the super early stages of discussions and no decision has been made yet.”

“It would give her a reason to really show her talent and to stay in the new place in NY Joel just got,” the source says. “It also shows people are really excited about Nicole right now.”

Whatever Richie’s decision, this year will be big for the new mom. “She is also weighing some other amazing offers but 2008 is going to be really exciting for her,” the source says. “She just working it all out and keeping Harlow in mind with everything she does, of course!”

Shouldn’t this role be offered to someone who can sing? I thought that was a prerequisite to performing on Broadway.

Nicole Richie may be living life to the fullest since the Jan. 11 birth of baby daughter Harlow Winter, but you would never know by looking at her post-baby body.

The 26-year-old first-time mom has been showing off her slim but healthy physique, most recently a Grammys afterparty and at the opening of the Broad Contemporary Art Museum on Feb. 9, where the Simple Life star looked so svelte it’s hard to believe she gave birth only weeks ago.

And while the new mom is keeping this secret from the public, her fiancé Joel Madden, 28, is all too familiar with them. “He’ll help her find them in her closet if they’re running late,” says the friend. “But he thinks she looks great just the way she is.”

Nicole Camille Richie (born September 21, 1981) is an American actress, author, and aspiring singer. The daughter of Lionel Richie, she is known for her role in the reality show The Simple Life and her turbulent personal life.

On April 20, 2005, amid media reports that their friendship was in trouble, Paris Hilton, released a statement saying, “It’s no big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends,” and “Nicole knows what she did, and that’s all I’m ever going to say about it.” A circulating rumor was the story that Richie had shown Hilton’s sex tape at a party; though Richie has denied this. Nicole Richie took a mini break from mommyhood this weekend, hitting four parties in two days.

Wearing a gold and diamond “H” necklace, the new mama, 26, and beau Joel Madden kicked off their weekend Saturday at the opening of the Eli Broad Contemporary Art Museum in L.A., where she told Usmagazine.com her newborn daughter “is doing great!”

The two then moved on to Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy bash at the Beverly Hilton Hotel — but they didn’t stay for long.

“We have to get home!” Madden was overheard telling a friend at 11:40 p.m. “[Harlow] only sleeps three hours at a time. She’s with Grandma now, but if she wakes up…”

The next night, Richie and Madden popped by Entertainment Weekly’s post-Grammy party at 10:40 p.m.

Richie, wearing a flowy bohemian dress, munched on chicken satay kabobs.

After about an hour, they met up with Madden’s bro, Benji, and moved on to the Sony BMG party (band Good Charlotte is under the label) at the Beverly Hills Hilton at 12:10 a.m.

Richie leaned on Madden’s shoulder and held his hand as he worked the room.

She sipped on a tiny glass of champagne at 1:12 a.m. before heading home to check up on Harlow at 1:48 a.m.

According to Gawker, Harlow’s magazine debut has sold to People Magazine for $1 million, while the bidding for exclusive rights to Max’s first photo spread is already at $1.5 million. OK! and People Magazines are the magazines in the midst of a bidding war for Max’s premiere.

I think it crazy how this goes on, I like how Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber introduced Alexander - much more low keyed.
