Jessica Simpson watched in shock as her BFF/hair stylist Ken Paves had his face busted open during a crazy paparazzi crush on their way out of Madeo late Saturday night.

Ken was escorting Jess out of the restaurant, when the sea of snappers swarmed — and in the madness, one guy hit Ken near his eye with a part of a camera.

With blood trickling down his face, Ken still managed to get Jess inside their waiting ride. Their driver then whisked the group to a nearby hospital, where Jess accompanied her friend inside the building.

Calls to their reps have yet to be returned — and as of right now no police reports have been filed.

Here is the thing I don’t get about Jessica Simpson. I mean she is an international box office superstar, well at least in one country, and she wants us to think she is intelligent and a great business person and a singer and a great girlfriend but then when you actually read what she is saying, you realize it makes no sense.Kneepads really opened wide last night and talked about how Jessica was late getting to some birthday celebration in New York because of some really bad storms when she left Nashville. I think the operative word there is Nashville. She was in Nashville with Ken Paves and got delayed in her flight to New York. Fine. It happens. I just want to make sure we knew where she was scheduled to be months in advance, who she was with and what city she was flying from.

Now, when she got to New York, she told the crowd she wished she was God so she could control the weather. If she was God, this world would be one crazy place. Anyway, the point of the post is that she told Kneepads that Tony Romo was really hoping she wouldn’t be able to fly from Nashville because he had a very romantic date planned for them.

“Tony was just praying [that I wouldn’t make it out],” Simpson admitted. “He had planned a really romantic date in case I didn’t make it [to New York] tonight.”

And while a date night was tempting, “I decided to come,” she continued. “I’m like, ‘Honey, I have to go.’ ”

Well considering that Tony was in Dallas all day yesterday and Jessica was in Nashville I’m guessing this date involved a couple of webcams and a trip to the Hustler store. I guess that is romantic in a sense, but it seems kind of awkward to me to have some kind of sex like that knowing that Ken Paves is doing Jessica’s hair at the same time and making a running commentary of how Tony is performing. Plus, didn’t he hurt his pinky? Isn’t he out of football for a few more weeks? Should he be risking re injury by proving he can get excited by Jessica Simpson.

What ever happened to Jessica Simpson’s comedy, “Major Movie Star”?

The “Private Benjamin” – like film has never opened here in the United States. But on October 9th, “Major Movie Star” debuted to top box office in… Russia.

Next up for a movie described by one of its participants as “maybe one of the worsr films ever made”: a November premiere in Bulgaria.

So far there’s no U.S. release date set. Nor is there one for any other country in which English is the primary language.

No fewer than 15 producers are listed on the credits of “Major Movie Star” including Jessica’s enterprising dad, Joe. The director was Steve Miner, whose credits are mostly from television.

While Jessica’s singing career transition into country star has gone pretty well so far, her movie credits seem to be getting worse rather than better. She’d be substantially better off, frankly, having a sitcom in which she can play herself.

When it opened at #1 it dropped I Know Who Killed Me down to #2 thus ending the 65 week reign of that film in the top spot.

The movie next opens in Bulgaria where it is expected to dethrone Glitter from its five year hold on the top spot.

Jessica Simpson performed for thousands of fans at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas Friday night, but made sure one man in the crowd, her boyfriend Tony Romo, was the center of attention.

“Wow, I love Dallas,” the singer told the crowd at the city’s Fair Park, just east of downtown. “Obviously, I love Dallas because I grew up here and this is my home – you guys are my family – but I did find an amazing boyfriend here in Dallas!”

Cheers erupted for the Cowboys quarterback, who smiled, looking on from the sound area. Although some fans were clearly more interested in watching him watch Simpson perform – their backs were to the stage the entire time – Romo didn’t seem to mind the attention. He grinned as Simpson, 28, called him “the calm of the storm in my life” and said, “Whatever I go through, I know I can depend on him to relax and bring me faith again.”

Before singing “My Sunday,” she added, “This is a song I wrote about a certain someone who throws that football really good.” Simpson giggled and Romo, 28, beamed.

Nursing a broken pinky and chatting with Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, Romo bobbed his head with the music and was caught singing along to a few songs. When Simpson hit a powerful note during “Do You Know,” he clapped in awe.

The admiration was mutual. “Sometimes, to find a love as big as that, you have to go through some heartbreak, some ugly ones and some butthead ones,” Simpson told the crowd. “You go through that to really appreciate where you are in life right now.”

Speaking of “buttheads,” she said she wrote the song “Still Don’t Stop Me” about an ex. “For some reason, I kept letting some guy come into my life. I couldn’t understand it until I wrote this song and was like, ‘Jessica, you need to wake up.’”

Midway through the show, Simpson left the stage as her band was introduced. Romo, protected by police, was also escorted backstage. He returned to the sound booth when she took the stage again.

Ouch!

Jessica Simpson’s beau, Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo, has broken a pinkie finger.

Citing an anonymous team source, ESPN reported that Romo suffered the injury during Sunday’s 30-24 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

The NFL Network said Romo is currently being examined by team doctors. A Cowboys rep has yet to comment.

Meanwhile, Simpson is shooting down more rumors that they two are engaged.

“Tony and I have not gone to Neiman Marcus — somebody said we bought a ring there,” she tells Entertainment Tonight. “I couldn’t drag Tony in to Neiman Marcus if I tried.”

Though they are not engaged, she said, “We are doing great. I’m wearing my No. 9 jersey proud.”

LL Cool J and Jessica Simpson make unlikely competitors, but the rapper is said to be furious that Simpson’s album, “Do You Know” outsold his own the week both debuted.

According to Nielsen Soundscan, Simpson’s first country album topped the country chart and came in No. 4 overall in the rankings by moving 65,000 units. LL’s “Exit 13” came in at No. 9 with sales of 44,000.

“LL is furious,” says a source close to his label, Def Jam. “He was so angry at one point that he was beaten by Jess that he actually threatened to quit rap.”

As it turns out, LL was likely just having a moment. A rep for LL says that “he has no plans to quit now,” and the he’s focusing on celebrating his “sixth consecutive top 10 album in his nearly 25 amazing years in music.”

He certainly seemed in good spirits Sept. 17 during the Hennessy Artistry Kick-off Event in L.A. One attendee passes on the observation that LL “brought girls onstage and threw money into the crowd.” Yes, real money.

“I really think it’s because I was wearing a pink No. 9 jersey and not a blue one,” she said.

“If you had been in blue that wouldn’t be a problem?” asked Letterman.

“Well, so far I’ve been wearing blue, and they’re doing great,” she replied. “I’ll never wear a pink one again!”
