Us Weekly reports in its latest issue, on newsstands now, that Gyllenhaal has quietly moved into Witherspoon’s $5 million L.A. home and is already part of her fiercely guarded family.

The actor, 27, is even helping to raise her two kids – Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4 – from her former marriage to Ryan Phillippe.

“Marriage is definitely what they are working toward,” a source close to the actress, 32, tells Us of the couple who’ve been together for a year.

“They literally don’t want to spend any time away from each other,” a Witherspoon pal adds.

The New York City Opera commissioned Charles Wuorinen to compose an opera based on “Brokeback Mountain,” the 1997 short story by Annie Proulx that became the basis for a 2005 movie that won three Academy Awards.

The opera is scheduled to premiere in spring 2013, City Opera said Sunday. It will be City Opera’s second Wuorinen premiere, following “Haroun and the Sea of Stories,” which was based on a Salman Rushdie novel and opened in October 2004.

“Ever since encountering Annie Proulx’s extraordinary story I have wanted to make an opera on it, and it gives me great joy that Gerard Mortier and New York City Opera have given me the opportunity to do so,” Wuorinen said in a statement.

“Brokeback Mountain” is a cowboy romance about two ranch-hand buddies who start a homosexual affair when they meet on the fictional mountain in 1963.

Jake Gyllenhaal is desperate to settle down and start a family with girlfriend Reese Witherspoon, according to reports.

The Brokeback Mountain hunk has been romantically involved with divorced mother-of-two Witherspoon since meeting on the set of their 2007 film Rendition.

The couple has been inseparable since, and, according to OK!, Gyllenhaal has made his intention to begin a family with Witherspoon clear - despite having yet to propose.

A source says, “He knows he might be jumping the gun thinking of kids, but he knows that Reese is the one. He laughs and says he needs to propose and do this the right way. It really is first comes love, then comes marriage…

“(Reese) reminds him that it’s more than just coming over to take the kids to the park. Your entire life has to change. She’s admitted that he has grown from when they first met into this very dependable dad type. He is ready to have his whole life change.”

Witherspoon’s eight-year marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe ended in 2006, and their divorce was finalized on October 5th. The former couple has two children together, eight-year-old Ava and four-year-old Deacon.

After a delightful shopping trip with gal pal Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal ran the course of emotions while walking from the passenger side of his SUV to the driver’s side. Russell explaining that the film was shut down again, then Russell and Gyllenhaal were conferenced together onto a call with one of the producers who said that film was back on, then the trio was put on another conference call with the financiers who said that the movie was shut down again, explaining that all of the money for the film had been lost in a bet on the Celtics/Cavs series. You see, the financiers thought that LeBron James was going to turn it around. It was at this point when the previously silent Gyllenhaal opened the door and explained that he’s going to be on vacation for a little while longer.

Some producer guy named Ryan Kavanaugh who is apparently buddies with Jake, is telling people that Jake loves Reese. I’m sure Jake is loving that this guy is a big-mouth whoring him out to the tabloids but what can he do, really? Here’s what good old Ryan told People:

“[Jake] has obviously had his fair share of dating,” Kavanaugh says of Gyllenhaal’s romantic life. “I think eventually you come to a place where you know what you want and seeing what we saw on the set, he was certainly completely devoted to her and really loves her.”

Can what you see on the set really be trusted?  I mean, everyone thought Brad Pitt was cheating on Jennifer Aniston on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith because he was photographed hugging Angelina Jolie but look how that—ehh, ha, um, bad example. Okay, maybe Jake does love Reese but really, who cares? I can’t believe I just spent 5 minutes writing about this. Give me drama! Give me break-ups! Give me sex tapes! Anything but this crap.

Gyllenhaal then complained that the security officer who helped the actor through the airport spent too much time asking him how his flight was and not enough fending off the paparazzi. Gyllenhaal then demanded that his agents set up a meeting with Diablo Cody, mainly because he wanted to see how long it would take for him to get her naked. Gyllenhaal then paused for a moment to catch his breath and, when he did, he finally came to his senses and fell directly to the floor. Once on the floor, Gyllenhaal rested in a fetal position and whispered into his phone: “I can’t do work with David O. Russell anymore. I can’t. I want Fincher back. I want to do take after take for ten hours straight.”
