Zac Efron wants to hide from the paparzzi so badly, that he is willing to shave his head according to OK!

He says, “To be honest, I can’t handle the paparazzi. They’re everywhere. One of them was in a dumpster trying to take my photo the other day. It was crazy!

“Another time, one was hanging off the back of a pick-up truck driving down a road. They think they’re being clever, but they’re not.”

And the pressure could drive the Hairspray star out of Tinseltown - he’s planning to go trekking, unnoticed, around the world.

He explains, “I’d love to take a year off and travel the world under the radar. I would love to do it really low-key.

“I wouldn’t need to stay in fancy hotels or anything; I just want to explore - but I don’t know how I’d do it. Maybe I’d shave my head to try and go incognito? Yeah, that’s what I’d do.”

Don’t do it Zac! He is too cute to go bald even to go incognito.

Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in the movies, thinks ‘High School Musical’ actress would be ‘great’ as Leah Clearwater.

With all the “New Moon” casting rumors that have been floating around since “Twilight” hit theaters, we were especially wondering who would play werewolf Leah Clearwater, Jacob Black’s feisty and heartbroken frienemy.

Well, one of the rumored actresses in the running — “High School Musical” starlet Vanessa Hudgens — has apparently taken the next step and auditioned for the role, according to “Twilight” actress Ashley Greene.

We ran into Alice herself at a Golden Globes afterparty, and she told us she’d be happy to co-star with Hudgens. “I think she’d be great,” Greene enthused.

Just last week, we asked Twilighters on our Movies Blog what actress should play Leah, including Hudgens and “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” actress Brenda Song as two poll options. The actresses tied at 31 percent of your vote, with “neither” being the most popular choice at 38 percent.

Commenters had a lot to say about Hudgens’ possible casting — both positive and negative.

“I cannot picture her being mean or aggressive as Leah,” Mary_ym commented about the Disney star.

“Vanessa Hudgens would be a good choice,” chill_kid_07 countered. ” … Of course she can’t look like Leah — no one can. You know why? ‘Cause it’s just a book, and these are actors trying to portray the roles! I think she would be great.”

Besides casting, Greene also had some news on the status of “New Moon.”

“I hear they’re doing another rewrite,” the actress revealed of the in-flux script. “I’m with you guys — I’m so excited to read it.”

It’s party time for Zac Efron!

The star of High School Musical 3: Senior Year celebrated his 21st birthday Saturday with an intimate two-hour dinner party at L.A.’s Pace restaurant with a group of friends and family that included his parents and brother, girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, HSM3 costars Monique Coleman and Ashley Tisdale, her boyfriend Jared Murillo and pals Michelle Trachtenberg, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow and singing sisters Aly and AJ Michalka.

Efron kept it causal in a T-shirt and jacket while Hudgens, 19, who “helped plan the party,” a source says, donned a colorful mini-dress. Guests arrived with wrapped gifts, including bottles of liquor for the actor, who can now legally drink alcohol.

Efron and Hudgens left the rustic Italian eatery hand-in-hand just before midnight and disappeared into a waiting car. But the celebration continued at a nearby hotel, where the birthday boy hosted an afterparty with some of his dinner guests.

At the HSM3 premiere in L.A., Efron’s friends and costars were mum on the night’s festivities. But Efron pal Bubba Lewis told PEOPLE, “We’ll probably go out, eat some food, laugh, have a good time.”

Costar KayCee Stroh echoed Efron’s desire for a low-key celebration. “We’re definitely going to party it up,” she said. “But he’s that guy that would rather sit down with friends and have a good discussion than deal with the craziness.”

And what to get the guy who has everything? “I’m going to get him tinted windows,” says Stroh. “That’s what I gave Miley Cyrus for her birthday and he’s getting them too.”

Apparently while on the road doing press for High School Musical Part 48 or whatever they are up to Vanessa Hudgens has been running out of things to say. At this point they have to be pandering to 10 year olds because no one else would ever believe they could still be in high school. At this age they would have already gone out and got their GED’s and been living at home while working at Denny’s.Anyway, back to Vanessa. Her latest talking point. See? You like how I did that? It is political season so have to throw in those buzz words. Vanessa has been name dropping Tom Cruise for much of the last week as part of her talking points by saying how sweet he is and nice.

“He was so sweet and such a nice guy…He is an amazing guy and I look up to him.”

Well, if you are looking up to him then you must be shorter than you look. I think the reason he took such a shine to Vanessa is that he had some questions about her relationship with Zac. Yeah, you think I am going to go there don’t you? No, I wouldn’t do that. It is Columbus Day here today and Thanksgiving in Canada. Do you think I would speculate about that? We could speculate about him lining up replacements for Katie though. Oh, it will happen eventually. I mean according to the tabloids, Katie wants to stay in New York and have Tom be on the other side of the country. When Tom Cruise is nice to someone I always get the feeling that he is just doing it to recruit them, and for no other reason. When he pulls over to the side of the road to help a stranded motorist, I feel like he is doing it for his ego and to make people grateful enough they will drop in for a free stress test.

I’m surprised Tom even knew who Vanessa was. Hell, he probably didn’t. According to Vanessa, Victoria Beckham introduced them to each other. Another name drop, although she did not indicate that she and Victoria were friends. Maybe Victoria offered up Vanessa as some kind of sacrifice to Tom so he would stop calling David and Victoria. I could see that.
