Apparently, George Clooney may have figured out there’s no girlfriend like an old girlfriend. The bedroom-eyed Oscar winner has quietly circled back to Krista Allen, friends tell us.

Their on-and-off long-running romance began in 2002 when George cast Krista in “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.” (This was after his marriage to Talia Balsam and linkages with Kelly Preston, Celine Balitran, Charlize Theron, Renee Zellweger, Jennifer Lynn Siebel and Mariella Frostrup. But who’s counting?)
George and Krista dated for close to two years, till Allen broke it off in March 2004. He moved on to model Lisa Snowden, but then he and Krista tried again in 2006. After that, he dated Sarah Larson, cocktail waitress and “Fear Factor” winner, for most of a year.

Throughout, says a friend, “Krista has always been there for him. She admits she just can’t get over him.”
And something about Krista brings him back. “George really loves her,” says the source.

A relationship with Krista, 37, would mean a ready-made family for George, 47, who once vowed that he wouldn’t remarry or have children by the time he was 50. Krista has an 11-year-old son, Jake, with production manager Justin Moritt.

But it may not be an issue. Says the source, “George adores Krista’s son.”

Reps for the two declined to comment.

Meanwhile, George has been shooting in Puerto Rico, where Hurricane Omar slowed down production of “The Men Who Stare at Goats.” He plays a former member of the U.S. Army’s First Earth Battalion, a unit that employs paranormal powers in their missions. Next up for the actor is “Up in the Air,” in which he plays a “career transition counselor” who’s looking to accumulate 1 million frequent flier miles and land a job at a mysterious management company called MythTech.

Friends and co-stars of comedian Bernie Mac are speaking out following his Saturday morning death.

“The world just got a little less funny,” Ocean’s 13 co-star, George Clooney, said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. “He will be dearly missed.”

Adds Ocean’s co-star Brad Pitt, in a statement to E!: “I lament the loss of a ferociously funny and hardcore family man. My thoughts are with [his wife], Rhonda, and their family. Bernie Mac, you are already missed.”

Mac, 50, passed away due to pneumonia complications early Saturday morning in a Chicago-area hospital, his rep confirmed to Usmagazine.com. He had been admitted to the hospital August 1, but was expected to make a full recovery after a few weeks of treatment.

“Bernie Mac was one of the best and funniest comedians to ever live, but that was the second best thing he did,” says Chris Rock, who worked with Mac in animated flick, Return to Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. “Bernie was one of the greatest friends a person could have.

“Losing him is like losing 12 people, because he absolutely filled up any room he was in,” Rock continues. “I’m gonna’ miss the Mac Man.”

Ocean’s Don Cheadle also tells E! in a statement: “This is a very sad day for many of us who knew and loved Bernie. He brought so much joy to so many. He will be missed, but heaven just got funnier.”

Cedric the Entertainer, who appeared with Mac on the Grammy-nominated album, “The Original Kings of Comedy,” in 2001, says: “It’s hard to put into words just how I feel and what a painful loss this is. Bernie was a brother, a friend and one of the comic masters of our time. Sharing the marquee with him during the phenomenon of the ‘Kings of Comedy’ tour bonded us like family, and created a unique moment in comic history, marking some of the most meaningful, memorable and fun times of our lives. His comedic approach was his own brand and will definitely stand the test of time. The level of his talent always inspired me, and other comedians, to ‘bring their A-game.’ I promise you that you never wanted to be the guy who had to follow Bernie’s set! As a husband and father, he was THE MAN and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will truly be missed, but so well remembered.”

Earlier Saturday, former co-star Niecy Nash told Us, “His passing is such a major loss to the acting and comedy communities.

“Bernie Mac was the personification of the word ‘real.’ He kept it real,” she said. “That kind of genuine spirit that he carried all time cannot be easily duplicated, but I will do my very best to try.”

The FOX network, which aired The Bernie Mac Show from 2001 to 2006, told Us in a statement, “Bernie Mac was a gifted talent whose comment came from an authentic, and highly personal, place. He was a tremendous live performer, and a wonderful actor. FOX was proud to be the home of The Bernie Mac Show, and all of us at FOX and 20th Century FOX Television extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Rhonda, and daughter, Je’Niece.”

Movie star George Clooney is confessing he has no idea what his new film Burn After Reading is all about. The Hollywood actor admits he is baffled by the plot of the “dark spy comedy” and when he tries to get an explanation from his directors Joel and Ethan Coen, they just laugh at him. He says, “I tell the Coens that I don’t understand it and they go, ‘Yeah…heh, heh, heh’. I seem to play another idiot, who is having an affair with Tilda Swinton.” But Clooney wants to get to the bottom of the plot, the movie is due to open the Venice Film Festival in Italy next month.

Long before Matt Damon took on the role of second-generation grifter Linus Caldwell in “Ocean’s Eleven,” Mark Wahlberg had a shot at the part and turned it down. Looking back at it, Mark doesn’t regret his decision to skip what turned out to be a blockbuster franchise. In fact, he told Zoo magazine, he’s better off not having to pretend he enjoyed working on the films.

When Zoo asked the actor if he really refused to work in the “Ocean’s” films, he said, “Yeah — and it was well worth it,” adding, “the second one sucked!”

Apparently Mark’s no fan of the Hollywood backslapping that goes on when the material doesn’t merit it.

“People tell George Clooney it’s great, but we all know it sucked,” the “Boogie Nights” star said. “I made two bad movies instead — ‘Planet of the Apes’ and ‘The Truth About Charlie’ — but doing that was better than sitting with Brad (Pitt) and George, telling the press how great everybody is! ‘We were in Europe, George was funny, then we had some wine …’ — that’s not for me.”

Lest George and the rest of the “Ocean’s” gang take offense, Mark explained, “I do love those guys, but I had to step out on my own.”

Our source claims Clooney “has been dating a woman in her mid-30s” for months now, even before he split with Larson. The source also claims Clooney knew he was going to leave Larson months ago, and let her do interviews and some modeling to “get her a career” before the split. Larson also got some new breasts. A rep for Clooney, who’s vacationing at his house in Lake Como, said, “How does one as public as George secretly date anyone?”

Didn’t see that coming did you? Former cocktail waitress with brand new implants and no money coming in? What is a girl to do? Hmmm. She could go back to waitressing and guys all pawing her while they play the nickel slots. Dropping a couple of nickels on her tray as, they say, “there’s more where that came from baby. I may not be George Clooney, but my pennies and nickels are just as good.”

She could keep hanging out on red carpets looking for some balding, fat producer who wants a trophy. Or, hey here’s a bright idea. She could just take off all her clothes for Playboy and live off those earnings for awhile.

Guess which option she chose. What? Did some of you go with the senior citizen in Vegas with the grabby hands and no teeth.

Apparently Sarah has accepted the offer of Playboy and will be stripping down and showing to the world what George Clooney saw every night. Apparently George wasn’t too fond of the implants though. I guess maybe Sarah knew deep down that it wasn’t going to last and she would need a career where fake breasts would come in handy. Guess she wasn’t really thinking of heading off to Vandalay Industries or something.

Also working against the whole waitressing thing is that Sarah considers herself too famous now for it. Ummm. Honestly as much as I have used her photo over the past year I wouldn’t recognize her if she was sitting across from me with a George Clooney blow up doll. So, I think the famous for having sex with an actor thing is not really being famous, it just means you are good in bed because you lasted longer than one night.

Dating one of Hollywood’s biggest stars didn’t change George Clooney’s down-to-earth ex Sarah Larson, a source close to her tells PEOPLE.

“She’s a beautiful, amazing, compassionate human being who was thrown overnight into the middle of the media monster and has done an amazing job at staying true to herself and her family and friends,” the friend says.

On Wednesday sources close to the couple verified that the pair, who dated for about a year, had parted paths.

“Yes, it’s confirmed,” one source says. “They’ve split.”

Asked about the report, Clooney’s rep, Stan Rosenfield, would only say: “We do not comment on George’s personal life.”

Clooney, 47, and the onetime Fear Factor winner, 29, came out as a couple at the Venice and Deauville film festivals in September 2007. That same month, Larson suffered a broken foot when the two were injured in a motorcycle accident in Weehawken, N.J.

Larson was the first girlfriend to accompany Clooney to the Oscars, stoking rumors of an impending engagement that Clooney quickly shot down.

No word yet on who, if anyone, Clooney will be bringing to the premiere of his next project, the Coen brothers movie Burn After Reading, co-starring pal Brad Pitt, which is due out in September.

Hollywood star George Clooney is denying reports he launched a bitter attack on socialite Paris Hilton in a recent interview. The icon was said to have slammed the hotel heiress during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, allegedly calling Hilton a “wannabe” and ridiculing her acting talents. The star was quoted as saying, “There is a funny thing that happens when you are a young actor. You equate financial success and getting jobs with whether or not you are good at it. “And it still happens. That’s why there is Paris Hilton. Now I’m in trouble with Paris Hilton.” But the Hollywood hunk’s representative states the comments were taken out of context, insisting the quips used in the article were not connected. Clooney’s spokesman Stan Rosenfield says, “He made a long joke in between those two quotes. Making fun of himself. Two different statements are being used that were barely connected.” Rosenfield adds, “And (they were) certainly not the spirit of the interview.”

No matter what you think of George Clooney, he generally comes off as a pretty upfront guy. Ask him a question and he will give you an answer. You may not like the answer, but he will give you one anyway. In the new edition of Rolling Stone, Clooney gave an interview and said some pretty nasty, but true things about Paris Hilton. Now, he is trying back peddle and saying that the magazine got it all wrong and he would never say anything bad about Paris Hilton? Why is he afraid of Paris Hilton? Does she have something on him? Did he and Paris do the dirty? Did he dress up in diapers or something? I mean this seems very un-George like and there must be something going on.

In the interview he said, “There is a funny thing that happens when you are a young actor. You equate financial success and getting jobs with whether or not you are good at it. And it still happens. That’s why there is Paris Hilton. Now I’m in trouble with Paris Hilton.”

He also called her a wannabe. I don’t think he said anything wrong or anything people would find disturbing. He is also assuming that Paris can read, or will read this, or that her friends are capable of reading it to her.

His reps are in full damage control mode and say that Rolling Stone took two sentences out of context and that the quote wasn;t in the spirit of the interview. WTF? Who cares? Again, why the big deal? Are you in love with the Hilton Honors program or something? It isn’t even that bad, which leads me to believe that George and Paris have a history and he doesn’t want her spouting off, or she knows something about George the rest of us don’t and so he is kissing butt like Larry King, and really losing my respect.
