How many pop stars does it take to change a light bulb? No idea, but it only takes one Britney Spears to turn on the Christmas lights at Rockefeller Center. I wonder if this is panty optional? Jesus must be pissed about this, you’d think a star like Jesus could pull, say, Justin Timberlake or Miley Cyrus, but it looks like he has finally made the D-List. He must be like, ‘I was crucified only to be rewarded with this?’

Sources close to the pop superstar confirm to OK! that on Dec. 3, the day after she turns 27 and her new album, Circus, hits record stores, Britney will be in the Big Apple for the 76th annual tree-lighting extravaganza. What’s still unclear is whether or not she’ll be performing at the ceremony, or just hanging out with host Al Roker for the NBC broadcast of the event.

I remember seeing something once on TLC or Discovery or one of those lets fill an hour shows and play with your emotions thing. I of course couldn’t find the remote control and so for an hour listened to family after family talk about how their kids were perfectly normal and then one day just had a seizure. I cannot imagine sitting there with a child who you think is fine and then having that happen and being helpless to actually do anything about it.

Apparently that is what happened to Jayden, who is Britney’s two year old son. I think Jayden is the one who fell from his high chair when he was little, but there was so much going on in her life then, so who knows. I do know that everything seemed to be going pretty well for Britney and her family. She flies to Louisiana the day after performing with Madonna and the next thing you know you are having to rush your son to a hospital that is at least 30 minutes away. The whole family went with Jamie-Lynn actually playing pap spoiler by blocking their path. Who knew she had it in her.

There have been no reports other than the baby was kept overnight as a safety precaution. Lets hope everything works out great.

Britney Spears will be celebrating Turkey Day overseas.

The singer — who returned home to Kentwood, Louisiana, on Friday with sons Sean Preston and Jayden James — will perform on the French show Star Academy on Nov. 28.

“Looks like Britney will be spending her Thanksgiving holiday in Europe!” reads the announcement on BritneySpears.com.

Spears drops her sixth album, Circus, on Dec, 2, her 27th birthday.

She wowed the crowd Thursday at L.A.’s Dodger Stadium when she joined Madonna on stage to perform “Human Nature.”

“Just left the Madonna concert,” Spears wrote on her Web site. “It was really fun!”

Ryan Seacrest broke the news on his Nov. 5 radio broadcast that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake would take the stage together with Madonna at her Nov. 6 concert at L.A.’s Dodger Stadium. While the news might have come to a shock to many fans, some close friends of Spears weren’t surprised.

“Justin has denied all along that he was in touch with Britney, but that was him being a gentleman,” says one source who has known Spears for years. “He was in touch with her and supportive all through rehab — there’s no bad blood and he’s been open to helping her when she was ready and responsible all along.”

Another Spears friend says, “Britney’s serious about her comeback now — the people who supported her when she was at the top of her game have always been willing to come back when she was serious and ready.”

As for Madonna’s influence, a Kabbalah source is more cynical. “It’s hard for this to not look like a press stunt. There’s been a lot of worry about how Madonna is presenting Kabbalah to the world while she’s divorcing Guy and denying a real relationship with A-Rod. Britney’s never cut ties totally with Kabbalah,” says the source. “I’m sure there’s a link here. If she’s a comeback story and Kabbalah can take credit, then everyone wins.”

Britney Spears and ex Justin Timberlake are reuniting.

The two are rumored to perform in L.A.’s Dodger Stadium tonight alongside Madonna on her Sticky & Sweet tour, reports Ryan Seacrest.

“They are going to be onstage performing with Madonna,” Seacrest said on KIIS-FM host DJ BoyToy Jesse’s Wednesday-afternoon show.

The exes have both collaborated individually with Madonna.

Added Seacrest, “If Justin and Britney end up on that stage with her … I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything quite like that before.”

In the mid-1990s, Timberlake dated Spears, his Mickey Mouse Club costar, but split in 2002 after he accused her of cheating on him. (He shot the video “Cry Me a River” in response to her affair.)

“I haven’t spoken to her in years,” he told Oprah Winfrey in 2007. “I mean, there’s no ill will – I have nothing but love for her.

“It’s funny because we dated each other at a time…,” he added. “Wow, I haven’t talked about this in a long time. It’s interesting.”

I’m sure somewhere right now the old Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears message boards are turning over their engines and starting to get some life back in them. All those message boards devoted to the couple remaining a couple have obviously been dormant for a few years now, except of course for those 50 year old guys trying to hook up with Britney and Justin look-a-likes.

You would have thought the earth was coming to an end with the reaction around LA that Madonna is bringing Britney and Justin back together tonight during her show at Dodger Stadium here. Ryan Seacrest went so far as to say it is the most amazing thing he has ever seen before. Wow. I think it is a big deal for the five minutes they spend together on stage, but is it a life changing event? I don’t think so. Do I think it is going to lead to some kind of Britney/Justin reunion? I don’t think so.

All this is going to be is a one off reunion thing. Think about when Christina and Britney performed together with Madonna. Did that lead to Britney and Christina being BFF? No. It was a one time thing and I don’t think this will be even that good.

This is Madonna though at her very finest. I am constantly amazed at her promotion skills. This is a woman who has reinvented herself continually and kept herself in the spotlight through sheer will for almost 30 years. So, enjoy the five minutes but for all you Britney/Justin fans who think this is going to be a wedding harbinger, you need to breathe.

Britney Spears’ father will maintain indefinite control of her personal and financial affairs after a court commisioner on Tuesday extended the arrangement beyond 2008. The conservatorship, which had been set to expire Dec. 31, also allows the people controlling Spears’ affairs - a group that includes father Jamie Spears and several attorneys - some say in her professional career.

It’s a move the singer apparently approves: A court appointed attorney said the details had been explained to the 26-year-old and she agreed not to oppose it.

Spears could petition at a later date to have the conservatorship removed, but the court’s order otherwise constitutes a lifetime arrangement, a court information officer said. Attorneys for Jamie Spears declined to comment after the hearing.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz granted said she was granting the permanent conservatorship in part because Britney Spears has shown she is “susceptible to undue influence.”

Based on the attorneys’ recommendations and other evaluations of the singer, Goetz said making conservatorship permanent was “necessary and appropriate.”

The move came after a lengthy closed-chambers meeting, and follows a recent medical evaluation of the 26-year-old singer. Jamie Spears has had control over his daughter’s affairs since February after she had several high-profile incidents of erratic behavior and a pair of hospitalizations.

It came on the same day that a Florida court case flared up in Los Angeles. Attorneys for one of Spears’ former managers suing the singer in Orlando wanted to force her to undergo a deposition.

That move was blocked after Jamie Spears and his attorneys sought a protective order against his daughter answering questions. Goetz approved the protective order through at least February.

Attorneys for the manager, Johnny Wright, argued in court filings that Spears seems well enough to record new music and is poised to embark on a publicity and concert tour for her new album, which will be released in December on her 27th birthday. The filings argued that Spears should also be considered healthy enough to undergo sworn testimony, but Goetz disagreed.

Every now and then you read a story that is so out there, you think it has to be complete BS. But then again that story might be true? Anyways here is a story that is just that…Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton are all teaming to do a show together on HBO according to Bang Showbiz.

Hilton, Spears and Lohan were once close friends and were regulalry seen together on the party circuit in 2006.

The proposed show has been described as a cross between Friends and Ugly Betty.

“The chemistry between them will be electric,” a source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper.

“They were very close and have had their ups and downs in the Los Angeles party world but they have overcome those problems now. They can draw from their experiences for the sitcom.”

Show chiefs are said to have approached Extras star Ricky Gervais and Desperate Housewives creator Mark Cherry to pen the script, which would see the trio playing characters inspired by themselves.

“Paris will play a fashion designer who will try anything to get her outfits noticed,” the source said.

“Britney’s character is an aspiring singer, but her unusual song lyrics stop her from hitting the big time.

“Lindsay will be a little like Joey from Friends.”

I might have believed the story a little more if they say that Gervais and Cherry were attached to it too. So if there was any truth to this story would you watch? I hate to admit, but I totally would because it would be great trash television!!!

I don’t usually wake up early enough to see all the performers who sing on the early morning talk show programs, but from what I have seen, they often have technical problems, the weather can be very uncooperative and for the most part, unless you are a really good singer, the quality sucks and you don’t end up looking that great. Plus, musicians as a rule do not enjoy getting up at 4am to get read for an 8am performance.

So, why on earth would Britney Spears sign up for a December 2 appearance on GMA in Bryant Park? To me that is just setting yourself up for failure. Even if everything went flawless, she is still not going to sound great because of the conditions, and at worse the performance could make the VMA of last year look wonderful. Apparently she was dying to do one of the morning programs and GMA beat everyone out.

What she needs is for Solid Gold to make a comeback so she can do her little dance moves while lip syncing to her songs and have a bunch of retired disco dancers in the background making her look good. Instead what she is going to get is some guy slipping on a patch of ice on the stage while he is reaching for the last donut on the craft service table, pulling out a plug and watching Britney embarrass herself. Live, outdoor television, in winter (almost) in New York in the early morning is just not a recipe for success. A recipe for YouTube success, but not Britney.

A second day of deliberations ended Monday in Britney Spears’ driving without a valid license case without a verdict.

Jurors left for the day after saying earlier in the day that they were hopelessly deadlocked. A foreman said they had voted three times since Friday, and each time failed to reach an unanimous conclusion.

The three votes were all 10 to 2, the foreman said without indicating whether which way.

Superior Court Judge James A. Steele asked the panel to take one more vote and try to make progress. Jurors were read testimony by Spears’ father, Jamie, but did not indicate another stalemate before leaving. They resume their deliberations Tuesday morning.

They posed at least three questions throughout the day, including a clarification of the charges and what Spears had done to be charged.

Steele responded by reading sections of the California vehicle code to them and reminding jurors that they could only consider evidence introduced during the trial.

There was no mention during the trial of the accident that led to the charges, as agreed by the defense and prosecution attorneys.

Spears hasn’t appeared in court and didn’t testify during the trial. She faces possible jail time and a fine if convicted.
