Luckily for Vanessa Minnillo, life doesn’t always imitate art.

Case in point? In Disaster Movie, hitting theaters Friday, Minnillo’s cheerleader character just can’t get her boyfriend to say “I love you.”

“He just can’t drop the L-word,” Minnillo, 27, tells PEOPLE of her character’s commitment-challenged boyfriend. “And what a girl wants more than anything in the world is for their boyfriend to say ‘I love you.’ ”

But, says Minnillo, her real-life beau Nick Lachey, 34, doesn’t have any similar hang-ups: “The L-word is not thrown around by men as easily as it is by women – but I didn’t say it first! He’s very loving. We’re very open and vocal.”

While Minnillo and Lachey may be in sync when it comes to their love for each other, their attempt to exercise together is not so harmonious.

“We used to work out together, but we stopped,” says Minnillo, laughing. “We’re doing different things. And the guy runs forever! Like, I swear, he’s running 11 miles a day. I can’t run. That’s the one thing I can’t do, because I feel like the further I jog away from my house, the further I have to jog back!”

NICK Lachey and his girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo, don’t really do anything beyond getting paid to show up at events or frolic at tropical resorts that need free press - so you’d think they’d appreciate their easy-money lifestyles. Wrong! According to a source at JC Penney’s “American Living” launch at Skylight on Hudson Street, “Nick was complaining the whole time he was there. He started whining, ‘When can I get out of here?’ and refusing to take photos. That’s what he was paid to show up for.” A rep for Lachey told us, “Nick stayed and watched the entire Rascal Flatts performance at the event and had a great time.”

FoxNews has it on good authority that Nick Lachey and Vanessa Manilafolders will make it legal this weekend. A source said the two will become 1 at one of the Carlyle Hotels in the Bahamas. 27-year-old Vanessa arrived with a full entourage yesterday.

34-year-old Nick has been married once before to that big-tittied frog named Jessica Simpson.

Can’t wait for the reality show, because you know there’s going to be one. Jessica is probably crying into Papa Joe’s arms. PJ is probably working overtime trying to get Jessica and Tony Romo photographed again this weekend, so it looks like she’s completely moved on and could care less about Nick getting married. 

These photos just recently surfaced, but they were taken two weeks ago while Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey were on vacation in the British Virgin Islands. And I use the term ‘vacation’ loosely, since you probably have to have a job to actually take a vacation. Although to be fair, lying around on the beach and having sex all day is tough work. I’ve been doing it full-time for over ten years now and, despite what the line of satisfied ladies might suggest, I still consider myself only semi-professional. And by semi-professional, I mean if lying on the beach and having sex was like knocking over buildings, I’d be motherfucking Godzilla.
