Shakira received an ALMA award Sunday for the humanitarian work she has been doing for Latin America’s impoverished children.

Shakira, who is involved in several foundations to improve the lives of children in Colombia and Latin America and is UNICEF goodwill ambassador, received the American Latino Media Arts awards from the hands of “desperate housewive” Eva Longoria.

Singing star Shakira is reportedly in talks to sign a multi-million dollar deal with the concert promoter Live Nation. Shakira could join an elite league of music icons including Madonna, Jay-Z and U2 if the deal goes ahead as planned. According to the New York Post, the pop singer, whose deal has been valued at over $70 million, has agreed to terms including recording, touring, merchandising and other music rights. It is believed a deal could be announced within weeks after 10 months of intense talks. Shakira is obligated to release another English-language studio album under the terms of her current contract with SonyBMG’s Epic Records. This will be released next spring.The label also plans to release a greatest hits album.

Another week, another sex tape rumor. But unlike the  somewhat harmless photos of good girl Kristin Davis that caught our attention a few weeks back, the news that Shakira and boyfriend Antonio de la Rua may have recorded each other Pam-and-Tommy style aboard a yacht  sounds a bit racier. As one Spanish radio host put it, “if some of this tape’s content would be made public, it could seriously threaten the singer and couple’s private life.” And aside from the prospect of seeing Shakira’s famous curves dancing in dirtier ways we’ve ever seen, the story itself involves a third (and fourth!) party.

As AOL Music reports, Shakira and de la Rua, who’ve since broken up, apparently recorded the on-yacht sex session with a third party, Spanish pop star Alejandro Sanz. Were that true, that would make this as-yet-unreleased tape way pornier than your standard celebrity sex tapes. But the story only gets more sordid once we learn the route this tape has taken into the public spotlight. Apparently, two of Sanz’ ex-employees are under prosecution for stealing the yacht which may or may not be stamped with Shakira’s threesome, um, evidence. Admittedly, we’re no Sam Donaldson (or even Chris Hansen), but we’re pretty sure this joyously means that all contents found on the yacht will eventually be presented to the court. And considering the way Hollywood sex scandals tend to dissolve, those contents will eventually be posted on this site. As soon as possible. We promise.

Pop singer Shakira is to become the latest celebrity to launch a beauty line.The superstar is to team up with bosses at Puig to create a new fragrance and beauty products collection. In a statement, she says, “I’m very excited to be able to express myself through another creative medium.”My feeling is that personal care and beauty should be effortless and accessible for everyone.” She joins a long list of stars like Britney Spears and Elizabeth Taylor who are making alot of money off beauty products geared to their fans.

Colombian beauty Shakira was in attendance for the “Love in the Time of Cholera” premiere last night in Hollywood.  And while she’s been engaged for over six years now, she doesn’t sound like she’s in any hurry down the aisle.

When you’re as rich and famous as Shakira, you get to pick and choose which projects you want to work on.  And thanks to Gabriel Garcia Marquez, she was convinced to sing on the soundtrack of “Love in the Time of Cholera.”

The film had its premiere in Las Vegas, and there was no shortage of celebrity sightings.  But more than that, the even benefitted Shakira’s Pies Descalzos (Bare Feet) Foundation. 

Shakira has made a world record with the conclusion of her ‘Oral Fixation’ tour. Now she is looking forward to act rather than going ahead with another of the world tour. Not that she needs to. Her 2005 CD, “Oral Fixation Vol. 2,” has sold more than eight million copies worldwide, and she’s also currently on the top of the charts with “Beautiful Liar,” her duet with Beyonce. “Usually singers are good interpreters, but not good actors,” Shakira said, “so you need to get with a good actors’ director. I would have to if the day comes when I do acting.” So I guess the day is soon approaching now that she has started looking at scripts that are coming her way. Looks like a great future ahead of her.

The second edition of THISDAY Music Festival is here in Lagos and Shakira has confirmed to perform on July 14 and 15th. The centre has a seating capacity of 15,000. Beyonce, Jay Z, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, En Vogue and Missy Elliot graced the first edition of the festival and it was considered an immense success in the World History of Music.

Shakira and Penelope Cruz have been spotted together many a times now. And chances are thick that Cruz might end up being the bridesmaid at Shakira and her long time boyfriend Antonio De La Rua’s wedding.

According to the report, “the wedding is believed to be taking place at Shakira’s luxury mansion in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.” De La Rua is a practicing lawyer and son of a former Argentine president. Ah Happy times!

It was announced in Friday the 22nd that Shakira has joined the star studded line up at the Live Earth’ Hamburg show which will be on the 7th July. ”Live Earth is about engaging a mass movement of people to take action against the climate crisis,” Live Earth Founder and Producer Kevin Wall said. “The addition of internationally popular music acts like Shakira will help us reach millions of people across the globe.”

The show is believed to be a 2 billion people get together which will be at New York, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and Hamburg.
