Instead of sitting around counting the money she’s made from the “Harry Potter” movies, Emma Watson, aka Hermione Granger, is said to have inked a big-bucks deal with Chanel. British press is reporting that under the terms of a two-year contract, Watson will become the new face of Chanel fragrance Coco Mademoiselle, and will earn about $6 million.

“This is such a perfect fit for Emma,” said a source close to Watson. “She’s not going to end up like these other Hollywood train wrecks, she just isn’t. This is going to be money in the bank so she can just live a life doing whatever she wants down the road, and it’s something she can be proud of. No one is going to be saying, ‘I never wanted to see Hermione in that light.’”

Could the source be alluding to Watson’s “Potter” counterpart Daniel Radcliffe, who will shortly be reprising his “Equus” role on Broadway? (Radcliffe has a nude scene in the play, in case you missed the frenzy around the play’s opening in London.)

Harry Potter star Emma Watson left her co-stars red-faced after beating them at ping pong. The 17-year-old, who plays Hermione Granger in the hit boy wizard franchise has left stars on the set of Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince too terrified to challenge her to a game. Rupert Grint, who plays red haired Ron Weasley - says, “I’ve got a table tennis on set and we’re always playing between scenes. “Dan (Radcliffe) has been have a few lucky months and we’ve both been getting really good but Emma is brilliant.”We rarely play her now because it gets quite embarrassing.”

Reports are flying in that Emma Watson’s mom and dad ‘went mad’ after finding out their young daughter had been partying with Razorlight singer Johnny Borrell last week, and have now forbidden the pair from meeting again. A very close source told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper: “They told Emma in no uncertain terms that she’s not to see Johnny again. They have always kept a strict eye on their daughter and are very protective parents. “It was a huge shock to see their little girl coming out of a party with hell raiser Johnny on her arm. He’s 10 years older than her and he’s admitted to being a drug addict in the past.” Emma, who plays schoolgirl Hermione Granger in the huge Harry Potter movie franchise and Borrell were spotted together at London’s National Portrait Gallery last week before partying at nearby nightclub Dolce. However, Emma insisted there was nothing going on. She said: “At London Fashion Week I met Johnny Borrell and we went on to a party hosted by designers PPQ in the same cab. I’d never met him before so that was great as I’m a big Razorlight fan. But goodness, I am really going to have to watch who I stand next to from now on!”

The pair were said to be “very taken by each other” after they met at a Vanity Fair party, which was held at the National Portrait Gallery in London earlier this week. They posed for pictures together outside the event, before leaving together in a taxi and attending another fashion party, organised by designers PPQ.

However, Harry Potter actress Emma has admitted that she was baffled by subsequent reports which suggested that a romance was on the cards.

“I met Johnny Borrell who is modelling for Burberry at the moment and went on to PPQ in the same cab. I’d never met him before so that was great as I’m a big Razorlight fan,” Emma explained on her official website.

“But goodness, I am really going to have to watch who I stand next to from now on! Maybe I should stand next to Orlando Bloom and then we can be said to be dating.”

What would you do if you found out your 17 year old daughter was hanging out with guy who is almost 30, needs a follow up trip to rehab and has slept with anything that has moved for the past ten years. Well, if you are a normal parent you would beat the hell out of your kid and lock her up in her room. Of course in these PC times, beating the crap out of her may not be actually allowed and perhaps may even cause a furrowed brow or two from the authorities.

Anyway, Emma Watson’s parents did take drastic action, and actually acted like parents. There was none of that she is just having fun crap or it is good for her career or a wink wink thing. Her parents told her that she could never see Johnny Borrell again after photos of the couple sharing a cab and attending a couple of parties together showed up all over the internet.

The parents were pissed and rightly so. Emma says that it was just a coincidence that she and Johnny shared a cab. That is what Kirsten Dunst said and the next thing you know she is spending some time up in Utah reading Lindsay’s bathroom scrawls.

Just because your child is famous or makes a great deal of money does not stop them from being your kid. Be parents, and take a stand. Don’t let them do what they want and then five years later watch from the sidelines as they try and clean themselves up from the laxness you provided. Show some balls. Be like Emma’s parents.
