Comic Eddie Murphy is hinting that he will retire after the much-anticipated Beverly Hills Cop 4 movie, because he wants to get back on the stage. Murphy was an acclaimed stand-up comedian before he became a Hollywood movie star, and now he’s happy to return to comedy clubs and theatres. He says, “Thirty years and I have close to 50 movies and it is like, `Why am I in the movies? I’ve done that part now.’ “I’ll go back to the stage and do stand-up.” But he’s still keen to get a fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie made, after years of looking at bad scripts for the project: “The third one was horrible, so I didn’t want to do another one.” And he insists he isn’t making the new film in the franchise for the money. He adds, “The (third) movie wasn’t ready to be done and they (producers) wrote some s**t down on paper and I said, `Is this your phone number?’ and they said, `This is how much we’re going to pay you.’ “I said, `Let’s go shoot it! I don’t care if the script ain’t right.’”

Dang Eddie Murphy’s head is huge. Can you not see him going to the artist saying I want a bust the size of my ego?
But seriously that 15′ bust is a promotion for his upcoming movie Meet Dave and that head will be touring the country. They probably spent more money on that prop than the movie will make.

Brett Ratner negotiating to direct 4th ‘Cop’ film

On the heels of the successful revival of the “Indiana Jones†franchise, Paramount has set in motion a fourth installment of “Beverly Hills Cop.â€
Eddie Murphy is attached to reprise his role as Detroit detective Axel Foley, and Brett Ratner is negotiating to direct.
Studio is aiming for a 2009 production start and a summer 2010 release.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce. Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the original “Beverly Hills Cop†trilogy with late partner Don Simpson, won’t be actively involved in the new film.
Murphy approached the studio about reviving the franchise that cemented his status as a B.O. mega-star. Par brass were eager to land another picture with Murphy after he finished the Karey Kirkpatrick-directed “NowhereLand,†which Paramount releases in June 2009.
That film was also produced by Di Bonaventura, who is working on the summer 2009 releases “G.I. Joe†and “Transformers 2.â€
The studio canvassed a number of directors before choosing Ratner. A writer will be hired shortly.
Released in 1984, the original “Beverly Hills Cop†grossed $316 million worldwide and spawned two sequels. All told, the three pics grossed $712.9 million worldwide. The last was released in 1994.
Murphy is currently toplining the Brian Robbins-directed “A Thousand Words†for DreamWorks.
Ratner has been developing the Hugh Hefner biopic “Playboy†for Universal and Imagine.

Eddie Murphy leaves Mr. Chow restaurant after having lunch there yesterday in Beverly Hills, California. Eddie was sporting a beret and sunglasses as he exited the restaurant amongst an excited mob of photographers.

Tracey Edmonds came this close on Monday morning to giving the entire world the real story about Eddie Murphy and Johnny Gill. Tracey Edmonds is prohibited by a confidentiality agreement she signed from saying anything about her relationship with Eddie Murphy. Johnny Gill, who is under no such agreement has felt free to trash Tracey whenever he gets the chance.
In order to confuse the public, Johnny has basically offered up four reasons why Tracey and Eddie broke up, with the most prominent being that Eddie’s mother did not like Tracey because Tracey was too greedy. Of course when Johnny refers to Eddie’s mother he calls her “Mommy.”
Meanwhile, Johnny also recently said that he isn’t gay, gets hurt that people think he is gay and that he keeps a stable of women that he chooses from nightly. Uh huh. You can listen to Johnny almost start crying as he throws out all this crap.
So, this radio interview was the end for Tracey. In a statement she had her publicist release to the radio station, she says, “I was very shocked and disappointed to hear of Johnny Gill’s false spin on the chain of events surrounding our wedding. His outrageous lies were clearly a very desperate and pathetic attempt to clean up his reputation at my expense. I would appreciate it if Mr. Gill would refrain from continuing to spread false gossip and lies to the public, and allow everyone involved to move on with their lives. We all know the real truth.”
The very interesting thing here is that Tracey cannot say anything about her relationship with Eddie. If there was nothing going on between Eddie and Johnny, then all she would have to say is that nothing is going on. Instead she talks about him trying to clean up his reputation. She can’t say much more because to say more would then involve details of her relationship with Eddie. If she said something like Johnny and Eddie sleep together every night then that would violate her agreement with Eddie. Now, I guess she could say that Johnny is gay and that in the strictest sense has nothing to do with Eddie, but in a way it does because then everyone assumes, so she really has to be careful about what she says to everyone while Johnny can go around saying whatever he wants.

First it was because Tracey Edmonds’ kids hated Eddie Murphy and now the reason given for the split is that Tracey Edmonds wanted half of Eddie’s money and wouldn’t sign a pre-nup. Whatever. The reason they are not together is because someone figured out their wedding wasn’t legal. BUT, for the sake of argument, lets suppose that Tracey already blew through her Babyface money and producing money and needed some more to get by, she deserves it.
If anyone has to spend five minutes with Eddie Murphy they deserve to get paid. I don’t know how much she wanted or he was willing to pay, but it probably wasn’t enough. I think this was actually a perfect situation for Tracey. She really wasn’t ready to be with anyone after the whole Babyface fiasco, and this option would allow her some time with the kids, a chance to get a little freaky if she needed it, lots of alone time as Eddie has other friends, and some cash should she need it. Instead, this was a nightmare from the beginning. First there was the Mel B episode, then more Mel B with a little Gloria Allred thrown in. Then you had Mel B with Eddie’s ex at lunch, and then all of a sudden Eddie got real quiet and real humble. No more denials or bad mouthing of Mel B after that huh? No matter what Tracey was there.
She was perfectly happy with the arrangement as long as there was not a real marriage, but if it was going to be real, she wanted more money. Eddie didn’t want to pay more money, so the deal was done. What I think Tracey should do is make sure she didn’t sign any confidentiality agreements and then write a book. Oh yes. A whole book. She should be able to get 200 pages out of the last year or so. Throw in some photos and use big type. People would love it.

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds were “married†in a private wedding on the island of Bora Bora on New Year’s Day. However to make the marriage legal, the couple needed a ceremony performed in the U.S. They decided to pass and are now “just friends†according to a statement issued to Reuters:
“After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further,” the statement said.
“While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends,” it added.
That’s amazing. It’s a marriage that ends after the honeymoon and isn’t legally recognized by the United States. Seriously, they should offer these on cruise ships. Or, at the very least, the strip club by the bus station. I’d love to marry a stripper for a short amount of time that won’t cost me alimony. I’d treat her good though. I’ll even make her a pillow by stuffing dollar bills and beer bottles in a trash bag. You know, so she’ll feel at home.
Eddie Murphy & Tracey Edomonds have split up! Hurray!!! They had some sort of spiritual or symbolic marriage ceremony two weeks ago on a tropical island.Â
Murphy’s rep issued the following statement to TMZ: “After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further.
While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends.â€

It’s probably Tracey Edmonds’ decision, don’t you think? She has this kind and gorgeous face how could she be with someone like him? Murphy, the father of Melanie Brown’s (Scary Spice’s) baby girl, Angel Iris. He has no interest in ever meeting his daughter. What a di*k.
Hey, I don’t give two sh*t about whether he had any say to the pregnancy but the baby is here and it’s yours - what jerk a*s would be this cold blooded.Â

Just two weeks after their wedding, Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds have split, Access Hollywood has learned.
The former couple’s marriage lasted just three days, a source told Access.
Murphy and Edmonds released the following statement to Access on Wednesday:
“After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further. While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends.â€
The couple tied the knot on New Year’s Day on a private island near Bora Bora in French Polynesia.
They began dating fall 2006 and were engaged in July.
The wedding ceremony in Bora Bora was a spiritual ceremony and the couple planned on having a legally binding ceremony upon returning to the U.S. However, since that ceremony never took place, the couple was never officially married to begin with.
Murphy, 46, has five children from his previous marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy, who filed for divorce in 2005. He also has a daughter with Spice Girl and “Dancing With the Stars†alum Mel B.
Edmonds, a 40-year-old movie producer, has two sons from her 12-year marriage to R&B singer Kenneth “Babyface†Edmonds. As head of Edmonds Entertainment, she has produced the film and television series “Soul Food.â€
Murphy’s film credits include “Dreamgirls,†“The Nutty Professor,†“Shrek†and “The Beverly Hills Cop†franchise.

Tracey Edmonds is still not legally married to Eddie Murphy. Bitch can still have her freedom. She won’t though. She’s stupid. Tracey and Eddie Murphy had a “spiritual ceremony” in an island off Bora Bora on New Year’s Day. People has the first photo. Eddie has a look on his face like, “I fooled this bitch. I can have my cake and tranny too!” Â
Tracey’s rep said the legal ceremony will take place in the U.S. “The wedding that took place in Bora Bora was a ceremony to bind Eddie and Tracey spiritually in the presence of family and friends. The couple plan a legal ceremony as soon as they return to the States.”
I hope Scary Spice shows up to that legal ceremony and raises a ruckus. She the power of girl on her side now. Nothing can stop her.
Eddie Murphy celebrated New Year’s Day by tying the knot with film producer Tracey Edmonds. The pair exchanged vows Tuesday on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia in front of a small group of family and friends, their representatives told People magazine.
A call to Murphy’s publicist, Arnold Robinson, wasn’t immediately returned early Wednesday.
Murphy and Edmonds began dating last year. They were engaged in July.
Murphy, 46, has five children from his marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy, who filed for divorce in 2005. He also has a daughter with Spice Girls singer Melanie Brown.

Eddie Murphy married Tracey Edmonds on New Year’s Day. Eddie, 46, and Tracey, 40, were married in a very small wedding ceremony at a private island off Bora Bora, in French Polynesia. The exclusive island ensured privacy for Eddie. The couple was married under a gazebo composed of 6000 shells. There was a banquet and disco at the reception. This was the second marriage for both Eddie and Tracey. Eddie divorced from his 1st wife, Nicole Mitchell after 13 years of marriage. In a strange coincidence, Tracey had also split from her ex-husband, Kenneth Edmonds, also after 13 years of marriage.

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds were married on New Year’s Day on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia in front of 25 friends and family, their reps said.
In a sunset ceremony on the beach Tuesday, Edmonds walked barefoot down the aisle to Gladys Knight’s “Makings of You.†The bride wore a custom-designed form-fitting dress by stylist and designer Sugia Nazel and Jill Baracci, designer and owner of Baracci boutique.
Murphy wore a cream suit and vest with an off-white handkerchief.
Among the guests were best man Johnny Gill, maid of honor Nicole Avant, matron of honor Julie Lev, as well as Edmonds’s parents Jacqueline and George McQuarn, her brother Michael, Murphy’s mother Lillian Lynch and his brother Vernon.
Edmonds, 40, gave her bridesmaids gold and diamond earrings from XIV Karats in Beverly Hills, and Murphy, 46, gave his groomsmen D.Atlantis watches.
The wedding was designed by event designer Colin Cowie, who created a gazebo on the beach made out of 6,000 shells for the ceremony. After the ceremony, guests celebrated at a private dinner and after-party, where DJ Darrin Ebron from Los Angeles kept the guests dancing.
The wedding cake was by Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings in Napa, CA, and featured four layers in whites and cream with handmade sugar cymbidium and dendrobium orchids.
Edmonds and Murphy started dating last fall and were engaged in July.
