IT was no secret that Def Leppard guitarist Steve Clark could party hard, but in her new memoir, “Runway Runaway,” the rocker’s former model girlfriend, Lorelei Shellist, reveals his tortured side. Shellist told Page Six, “I was 24 when Steve and I met . . . he was the love of my life.” She said Clark’s death by accidental overdose at 30 in 1991 was a result of “living on the other side of glamour. Nobody talks about the lonely side of it, traveling from city to city living out of a suitcase. I believe [Clark] had serious manic-depressive disorders and OCD [obsessive-compulsive disorder]. He had a lot of voices he was trying to quiet in his head. He was a brilliant musician and songwriter, but he would wake up in the middle of the night and write. He could never get a good night’s sleep . . . he was haunted.” Her book, based on her life as a teenage runaway turned runway model, also tells of her longtime friendship with Eagles rocker Don Henley.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning and his wife Abby McGrew could throw a sensational Super Bowl party if they wanted to.

While their 3,000-square-foot Hoboken, N.J., condo isn’t as enormous as some celebrity cribs, they recently gave the apartment an ultra-high-tech makeover, showcased in Electronic House magazine.

Touch-screen pads are everywhere, allowing 27-year-old Manning’s MVP fingers to adjust everything from music in the shower to the video on his 63-inch plasma TV. “I can control anything I want,” Manning, who wed college sweetheart McGrew, 24, in April, told the magazine.

There’s even a James Bond-like bar that appears out of a pillar in his living room. With the Giants at 4-0, the champ is clearly chilling out in style.

David Letterman and Sen. John McCain will get a chance to make up.

The Republican presidential candidate is scheduled to appear on Letterman’s “Late Show” on Thursday.

It will be McCain’s 13th visit to the CBS program but his first since he angered Letterman by canceling last month.

Letterman was unhappy when McCain sat for an interview with Katie Couric instead of him on Sept. 24.

At the time he said he first felt like a “patriot” to let McCain off his commitment to deal with the economy but “now I’m feeling like an ugly date.”

A McCain spokeswoman said at the time that because of the economic crisis, the campaign “felt this wasn’t a night for comedy.”

Travis Barker: DJ AM Is Inspiration

Oct 13, 2008 Author: showbiznews.info | Filed under: Celebrity News, Showbiz News, Celebrity Photos, Celebrity Gossip

Three weeks after his tragic Learjet crash, Travis Barker is thanking friends and fans for support in a new post on his MySpace page.

He also blogs that he is in high spirits after seeing DJ AM - who, along with Barker, was the only survivor in the Sept. 19 crash.

“I got to see AM the other day. Seeing him after he was discharged was an inspiration,” writes Barker. “I saw just how awesome the doctors’ work here is, and got to see how well he is doing. I am so happy to see him doing well, and we are both so lucky and grateful that we are alive today.”

As for his own recovery, Barker (who suffered second-and third-degree burns) says, “It’s been a slow recovery process. I am coming up on the 7th of my surgeries Monday. Today I finally was able to move all my fingers on my right hand. Every step seems huge at this point, and I’m doing EVERYTHING I can possibly do to get back to my kids.

“Yes, I did start eating meat again, but if it helps me to be home holding my little humans sooner, then it’s all worth it,” writes the star, who has been a vegetarian for 25 years. “The staff here are all bomb! Dr. Grossman and his staff are the best. The BOSS Barbara, and nurses Betty, Jay, Emily, Julio, Lolita and Stephanie (with the best scrubs ever!) are all taking the best care of me.

“Despite any rumors you might have heard via my EX-wife Shanna Moakler, who I have not seen since the week I checked in, I’ve been treated amazingly well, both here in L.A. and in Georgia,” says the rocker, who also posted photos from his hospital bed. “The hospitals I’ve been treated at are THE BEST.”

His friends and family “have been amazing,” Barker adds. “My pops has been with me ANY time I need him. My sisters, James, Skinhead Rob, Daniel, Hoover, Armen and, of course, Ricardo and Nicole have all shown amazing support. JD and Mark Hoppus both took the time to come visit and offer their support as well. Estevan Oriol even came in with a calendar.”

Of his assistant Chris Baker, 29, and his security guard Charles Still, 29 (who perished in the crash), Barker writes: “Chris and Che were my friends. I would give up anything to have them here with us today, healthy and happy. To call them my employees does them such a disservice, as they were so much more than that. Chris was my best friend before anything else, and I can never put into words how much he will be missed. Che was an amazing person as well, and I was honored to have him in my life.

“I am simply amazed and will be forever grateful for all the support everyone has shown to Chris and Che’s families,” he says. “It’s a testament to how many lives they touched in a positive way.”

Before signing off, Barker writes: “I’m just counting the days until I can leave. I can’t wait to get home to play drums with my son, and go for bike rides with my daughter. I can’t wait to see the pictures from Landon’s “Jack and Sally Nightmare Before Christmas” birthday party that we had for him today.

“I am bummed that I couldn’t be there,” he says, “but thank God I’ll be around to see many, many more.”

Barker recently opened up to Us Weekly, saying, “I’m just thankful to be alive.”

More than four years after saying “I do”, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony secretly renewed their vows in Las Vegas early Sunday morning.

Witnessed by two friends, the duo renewed the vows at Caesars Palace’s Forum Tower Penthouse at 3:15 a.m. Sunday after a night at Pure Nightclub, a rep for the hotel confirmed. The service was officiated by Rev. Steven Smith.

“It was totally a spur of the moment thing,” a source said. “They decided around 12:30 in the morning that they wanted to do it and started calling for ministers.”

The renewal ceremony comes after the couple spent the previous evening club-hopping in Las Vegas and taking in a show. Most in the city believed the couple was in the city to celebrate Anthony’s birthday from last month.

“(Marc) said they were in town for his birthday and they wanted to celebrate,” said a source who talked to the couple.

On Friday, the couple headed to LAX Nightclub and The Bank after checking out Criss Angel’s new Cirque Du Soleil show Believe – all under the guise the couple was in town celebrating Anthony’s birthday from last month.

Tim Robbins is known in Hollywood as an Academy Award-winning actor, director, activist and hockey fanatic. On Friday, he added comedian to his repertoire while getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“I used to take the bus from here to Burbank to go to work,” he recalled. “When the bus was late, I would walk up and down and throw my cigarettes down. Now I have the honor of having this done to my star.”

Guests at the ceremony included Robbins’ longtime partner, Susan Sarandon, as well as relatively diminutive actor Jack Black, who said he has known the tall, lanky Robbins for 25 years.

“I literally looked up to him,” Black joked. “I actually became his stalker because I wanted to be part of his world.”

Robbins was nominated for a best-director Oscar in 1996 for “Dead Man Walking,” a movie he co-wrote about the death penalty. Sarandon’s role in it won the Oscar for best actress.

“I am so pleased to be a part of his life, and I want to present Tim’s best production - our three kids,” Sarandon said.

Born in West Covina, Calif., and raised in New York City, Robbins came from a family of entertainers. His father, Gil Robbins, played with the folk group The Highwaymen in the 1960s.

Robbins, 49, is known for his proclivity for bold roles. He has appeared in critically acclaimed films such as “Mystic River,” “The Shawshank Redemption,” “Jacob’s Ladder” and “The Player.”

In Clint Eastwood’s “Mystic River,” Robbins’ portrayal of a man haunted by memories of childhood sexual abuse won him a best supporting actor Oscar in 2004.

Larry Hagman was reluctant to be on a new TV show called “Dallas” when he first read the script in the late 1970s, figuring there wouldn’t be any money in it.

But his wife persuaded him to give the role of conniving oil baron and cattle rancher J.R. Ewing a shot, saying they could “renegotiate” and that the job might pay off.

It did, eventually earning Hagman a reported $100,000 or more per episode. And now fans from across the world are paying as much as $1,000 apiece to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the debut of what became one of the most popular prime-time soap operas in TV history.

“People are crazy,” Hagman said Thursday. “I guess it’s a TV show people identify with.”

On Nov. 8, J.R., Bobby, Sue Ellen and other Ewing kin will mark the anniversary with a reunion and barbecue at Southfork Ranch. Viewed panoramically in the show’s introduction, the ranch is in the Dallas suburb of Parker, about 25 miles north of the flashy downtown skyscrapers also featured in the opening scenes.

Fans from Japan, Australia, Europe and across the United States have plunked down anywhere from $100 to $1,000 for the tickets. The more one pays, the greater one gains access to cast members including Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy.

“This thing is going to be a lot of fun,” said the 77-year-old Hagman, seated in the formal living room of the Southfork mansion, a trademark cowboy hat on his head. “It’s the first one we’ve ever done with fans. They’re coming from everywhere.”

Along with the barbecue, there will be country music, dancing, fireworks and a laser light show.

“This is a chance to live like and be a Ewing for a day,” said Jason Hardison, the event’s executive producer. “We’re going to celebrate the excess and success of the 1980s, at least the oil boom, and the money that surrounded Dallas.”

Given the various story lines and characters in each hourlong episode, Hagman said he saw Dallas as more of a cartoon and “had fun with it.”

Hagman, who grew up in Weatherford, west of Fort Worth, said he patterned J.R.’s twang, persona and family views after a businessman he worked for in high school who supplied oil drilling equipment.

But those close to Hagman say he’s the antithesis of the scheming, arrogant head of the wealthy but dysfunctional Ewing clan.

Hagman, a former vegetarian and outspoken nonsmoker who gave up alcohol after his 1995 liver transplant, is now an avocado farmer. He and Maj (pronounced MY), his wife of nearly 54 years, rise with the sun and are often asleep by 7:30 p.m.

Their 44-acre spread in Ojai, Calif., is all-organic. Their home runs on solar power, which Hagman said knocked their electric bill from $40,000 a year to $13.

He remains close to a few “Dallas” cast members, hunting and fishing with Duffy, aka brother Bobby, each month. And he and Maj often dine with Gray, who played his trophy wife on the show.

Maj Hagman recalled that when her husband first got the “Dallas” script, he was out of work. The couple were in New York, where Hagman’s mom, actress Mary Martin, was doing a show with Ethel Merman.

He was busy reading a script for a half-hour comedy while Maj reviewed the “Dallas” proposal.

“Woo! Larry, this is it!” she shouted. “There’s not one redeeming character in the whole show.”

She said it was right down his alley.

“But Maj,” he replied. “The money is terrible.”

She said: “We’ll renegotiate.”

After the “Who shot J.R.?” cliffhanger that concluded the 1980 season, when it was unclear whether J.R. would live, Hagman bargained hard with producers and landed a huge raise.

“That’s chutzpah,” Hagman said, explaining that the writers could have easily killed off his character. “But I made millions and they made billions. Everybody did well.”

Today, Hagman said the question people most often ask him as a conversation opener is, “Who shot you, J.R.?”

When he tells them it was Bing Crosby’s daughter, Mary, who played his sister-in-law and pregnant mistress on the show, they say, who is Bing Crosby?

“It’s a different generation,” Hagman said.

Twilight Boys Do VMan Magazine

Oct 12, 2008 Author: showbiznews.info | Filed under: Celebrity News, Showbiz News, Celebrity Photos, Celebrity Gossip

Striking curious poses in black and white with their fake vampire teeth in place, the boys of Twilight flaunted their tweenaged hotness. In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve drunk the Kool-Aid and am totally on board with this whole teenage vampire phenomenon so come along and get giddy with me, won’t you?

Clockwise from top to left are Jackson Rathbone, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz, Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet. It’s a shame that Cam has to sport that awkward blonde pontyail in the movie because he looks infinitely better without it.

Musically-inclined Pattinson looks like a Gap ad in his portrait here in a grey t-shirt and unbuttoned blue shirt. The initial response of Twilight fans has been overwhelming, indicating that producers of the movies will get back every penny of the $37 million it took to make the first in what I’m sure will be a long-running franchise.

POP princess AVRIL LAVIGNE and her prince charming DERYCK WHIBLEY should be dyeing each other’s hair pink and applying eyeliner together - but it looks like they’re heading for the divorce courts instead.

Despite just two years of marriage, the in-your-face bubblegum rockers are ending their relationship, according to US reports.

Trouble has been brewing since the Complicated singer embarked on her world tour earlier this year.

It is believed the distance put pressure on the couple and as her career soared, the SUM 41 frontman waved goodbye to fame.

A source said: “They have been growing apart for months. Deryck isn’t motivated in his own career, so he’s been drinking and partying.”

Rumours of their split were fuelled when Deryck was spotted at an LA event this week “huddled at a private table” and holding hands with an unknown woman.

Avril has a small pink heart-shaped tattoo with the letter D on her right wrist… maybe it’s time to make an appointment to remove it.

Christie Brinkley has fired back after ex-husband Peter Cook appeared on “20/20″ with Barbara Walters that aired on Friday, allegedly breaking the terms of their divorce.

“Christie Brinkley initially sought to settle this matter privately,” Robert Stephan Cohen, Christie’s attorney, told Access Hollywood in a statement. “The state of NY is an open court system. It was Mr. Cook who sought to lock the courtroom to the media. Judge Cohen applied the law and Peter’s request to bar the media was denied. This was not Ms. Brinkley’s doing, it was the law.”

Mr. Cook has chosen to breach the confidentiality agreement in the divorce settlement, a provision agreed upon in court to protect the children and allow them to put this ordeal behind them,” the statement continued.

On Wednesday, Christie filed for a restraining order after hearing that Peter had conducted the interview. The judge denied her request.

“My hope is that the world will see that I’m not the scumbag pervert that I’ve been painted to be,” Peter told Walters. “The misinformation that came out during the trial is the elephant in the room. It’s the elephant in the room for my kids. And I’m hoping maybe if I can correct some of the wrongs.”

However, according to Christie’s lawyer, he’s only made things worse.

“This is a tragedy,” Cohen’s statement concluded. “Mr. Cook has proven once again that the court appointed psychiatrist Dr. Stephen Herman was right when he testified that Peter Cook has an insatiable ego and needs constant reassurance. Mr. Cook continues to put himself first, ultimately hurting the children. The court awarded Ms. Brinkley full custody of the children and all decision making concerning them. That decision speaks for itself.”

The statement added added that the supermodel intends to continue to explore her legal options.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Cook and Brinkley split after 10 years of marriage in 2006, after he engaged in an extramarital affair with an 18-year-old assistant. Their divorce case earlier this year included a bitter custody battle for son Jack, 13, and daughter Sailor, 10, which Brinkley won.

Lisa Marie Presley and her husband Michael Lockwood welcomed twin girls on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

“The babies and mom are happy and healthy and resting at home,” rep Cindy Guagenti tells PEOPLE.

The baby girls were delivered by C-section at 2:46 p.m. and weighed in at 5 lbs., 15 oz. and 5 lbs., 2 oz.

The singer, 40, had said on her MySpace page before the babies were born that she and husband Michael Lockwood, 47, were “beyond thrilled and blessed, elated and saturated in happiness.”

The girls are the first children together for Presley and Lockwood, a musician. Presley, who proudly displayed her baby bump in the September issue of Marie Claire, has daughter Riley, 19, a model, and Benjamin, 15, with ex-husband Danny Keough.

Presley’s mother, Priscilla, had confirmed the twins.

“She wanted it really to be kept a secret for a long time,” the singer’s mother, Priscilla Presley, tells Entertainment Tonight, which broke the news. “And I think women should, because they should be able to announce what they’re having and when it’s time to make the announcement.”

Speculation about Presley’s pregnancy first surfaced after a London newspaper published unflattering photographs and alleged that the singer had an unhealthy appetite. Presley sued for libel, and the paper later apologized. She also blogged about the experience, writing, “I accept their attempt at redemption.”

At the time, Presley said, “Yes, I am swollen. And I am going to gain weight in a city where if you’re not a minus size 0, you are fat.”
