I recently walked into my neighbor’s apartment, intending to ask her to test out the Bosom Baby Pillow from Luna Lullaby with her newborn -  I had just been sent one for review. I was absolutely delighted to see she had already ordered it herself and was using it when I came over! Her baby was nursing on it so contentedly and looked so comfortable. My neighbor said it was one of the best pillows that she had (and she has several). She had also recently had a c-section and said it was very comfortable for her, too. I plan on using this with my newborn, who will be here soon and I’m currently using the pillow to help sleep at night. It fit me perfectly in the nursing position (even in my huge pregnant state) and the V-shape was great for supporting my neighbor’s newborn perfectly.

Ace Shane Daigle, 19 months, enjoyed his second Christmas according to mom, US Olympic softball player Jennie Finch. In her online blog, she wrote,
Ace said, “please” yesterday for the first time! It was so cute! He is totally faking us out not wanting to talk. He is fully aware.
He just started making an elephant noise and putting his hand out for his trunk. He imitates fishing which is hilarious. He pretends he is Santa Claus and says, “ho ho ho!” in a deep and serious tone.
He is getting good at opening presents…tears into them! His favorite so far is a Winnie the Pooh Truck his Aunt Dee Dee got him. He is a mad man on it, running in to and over things!
Ace’s dad is Minnesota Twins player Casey Daigle.

In better late than never news, Reverend Run, 43, and his wife Justine Simmons, 42, adopted an American-born baby girl in September, whom they named Miley Justine Simmons. Miley was one month old when they brought her home and will make her debut on the family’s MTV reality series, Run’s House, in January.
The couple lost their first daughter together, Victoria Anne, an hour after birth when she came into the world with a condition known as omphalocele.
Justine said,
People say, ‘You need to mourn,’ and you do, but only a little because the more you mourn, the more you want to mourn. I would have landed in depression.
The couple decided to adopt Miley — now 4 months — because, as Justine says,
I wanted a girl really bad, and I knew I wasn’t going to try again. That could have really messed me up.
The couple had been planning to adopt for a while. Back in March, she told Essence magazine,
We take for granted that we can just have a baby. But I couldn’t.
Maybe part of the reason God let this happen is because He wanted us to
adopt.
Run added,
She’s brought so much energy to the house. My wife cried the other day when Miley busted out laughing. It’s heaven to have this baby come into our house at this time, at Christmas.
Rev and Justine have been married for 12 years. Rev has three children from his first marriage, Vanessa, 24, Angela, 20, and Joseph “JoJo,” 18, and two sons with Justine, Daniel “Diggy,” 12, and Russell “Russy,” 10.

Like mother, like daughter! Though just a toddler, Carnie Wilson’s daughter Lola Sofia, 2 1/2, is already a talented singer — so talented, in fact, that Carnie, 39, says she wouldn’t be surprised to be recording a duet with her little girl someday soon.
I totally think we should do that. I think she will wind up really singing by the time she’s 4, judging by how she is already, that she’s completely on key at 2 ½.
Lola has learned vibrato and has written two songs already, Carnie says, titled ‘When I Get Big’ and ‘When Kelsey Misses Me,’ about her friend Kelsey. During the sound check before one of Carnie’s recent concerts, Lola decided to steal some of the spotlight for herself.
Lola couldn’t handle not being a part of the sound check and getting on the stage with the microphone. We had to get her a microphone that wasn’t working so that she can prance along the stage. She’s so funny.
As for whether there are any plans to make Lola a big sister, it sounds as if the odds are in Lola’s favor.
I’m going to be 40 in April so I really better get going! It’s a big question mark right now and I really, really want her to have a sibling, so I would say there’s a really good chance.
Carnie and her husband Rob Bonfiglio have been married since 2000.

Celebrities have brought adoption to the forefront these last few years, but in 2007 especially.
Here are the celebrities who adopted children this year.
In September, Mary-Louise Parker adopted her daughter Ash from Africa.
In June, Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson, adopted a little girl from Kazakhstan, who she named Ava Monroe Johnson (after her idol Marilyn Monroe).
Sheryl Crow welcomed son Wyatt Steven Crow on April 29th and brought him home the next day. She said of the process,
I’ve always wanted to adopt. Even if I’d had my own kids, I would have adopted. I love the idea of adopting. I always thought I had an immense amount of love to give. I got started at the end of my radiation treatment [in Spring 2006]. I knew it would take a long time. They don’t put you at the front of the line just because you’re a rock star.

Bucking the international adoption trend, ER actor Goran Visnjic and his wife, sculptor Ivana Vrdoljak adopted an American baby, a son they named Tin (pronounced T-ee-n, with a long ‘e’) Visnjic in April. Ivana was present at the birth and cut the cord, but Goran wasn’t present because they wanted to avoid the publicity.
(This is the couple’s first child together, but in November, Goran admitted he fathered a Croatian woman’s daughter, who was named Lana Lourdes.)
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopted their son Pax Thien Jolie, born in November 2003, from Vietnam in March. In their family, adopted kids outnumber their biological kids- Maddox Chivan was adopted from Cambodia in 2001, Zahara Marley from Ethiopia in 2005, and they welcomed Shiloh Nouvel in Namibia in 2006.
Technically, Angelina adopted Pax as a single woman but Brad considers him to be his child, just like their 3 other kids. He has said,
They’re as much my blood as I am theirs. And they are brothers and sisters. One came from Ethiopia, one from Vietnam, one from Cambodia, and one was born in Namibia. And they are brothers and sisters, and they have fun and they squabble and they fight, just like any other family. And it makes me so proud.
Awareness
November is National Adoption Month and several events involving celebrity parents helped raise awareness to the unique honor of being chosen.
On November 29th, Lauren Holly, an adoptive mom of 3,, together with Hot Moms Club and Sirens Society, hosted Still Thankful, Still Giving, a fundraising event, to promote adoption awareness and raise money for the orphanage Casa Hogar Sion in Tijuana, Mexico. Proceeds also went towards sending Jr. Sirens on a field trip to get hands on experience at volunteering at the orphanage, while seeing the positive impact they can make in the world.
Country music singer/songwriter Rodney Atkins performed on Friday, November 16th during a celebration for National Adoption Day at the White House. Joining the 38-year-old was his five-year-old son Elijah. Performing was very important for Rodney, who was adopted as a baby.
Tiny Revolutionary ’s “Chosen” tee is a lovely positive affirmation just for adopted children, and especially to celebrate National Adoption Month. But, as our Ciaran wrote, “as an adoptive parent and adoption advocate I am proud of my chosen child every day of every month and every year.” (CBB Deal: Save 15% with coupon code CBB01 at TinyRevolutionary.com.)
Adopted Celebrities
On Good Day LA, new mom Jillian Barberie Reynolds became visibly moved as she described the whirlwind of emotions she felt upon meeting her daughter, Ruby Raven, for the first time. Jillian, who was adopted, cried so hard during the delivery her husband Grant said he thought she was actually having a seizure. Recalled Jillian:
I couldn’t talk. I was thinking about my birth mom, how they put me on her for five minutes and then took me away forever, and I didn’t meet her again for 34-years. It made me so emotional.
