Ashlee Simpson continues to dance around pregnancy questions. The singer taped a segment for the Ellen DeGeneres show yesterday to air Thursday. During the interview, Ellen point blank said:

“I can’t let you sit here and not ask you the question,” began Ellen, before daring to ask, “Are you or are you not pregnant?” [Ashlee replied ]”That is definitely something that I choose personally not to discuss except for the fact that maybe… do I look like I had 10 cheeseburgers or something? Because I don’t think I do!”

Ellen and Ashlee went on to ‘pinky swear’ that she wouldn’t wait as long as Jennifer Lopez to announce the news.

“I promise you that,” laughed Ashlee. “I give you my pinky on that.”

It’s one thing to keep things private, but this has publicity written all over it.

The Young and the Restless star Joshua Morrow and his wife, Tobe, welcomed their third child, a baby boy - Cash Joshua Morrow on Monday in LA. Cash weighed 6 lbs., 15 oz, and joins big brothers, Cooper, 5 1⁄2, and Crew, 2 1/2. Morrow’s rep said,

“Mom is amazing and beautiful as ever and Cash is perfect,” says Morrow, adding, “It was a very drama-free birth.”

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes went all out for Suri’s second birthday, spending a reported $100,000 on the festivities.

In Touch reports the afternoon party, filled with over $17,000 worth of flowers was held at a home in the Hollywood Hills. The theme of the party was butterflies, a favorite of the birthday girl. Guests included Tom’s mom, Mary Lee South, and Isabella, 15, and Connor Cruise, 13. An insider says,

“Suri adores butterflies. Absolutely no expense was spared to make Suri’s birthday the best day of her life.” [Who Attended] “It was immediate family and their closest friends only. There were no celebrities invited to the daytime bash.”

There was the $5,000 cake we told you about from LA’s Sweet Lady Jane bakery, plus each guest received a personalized cake. In addition, $230 worth of cupcakes from LA bakery Sprinkles were on hand, a favorite of Katie.

Mark Wahlberg and his fiancée Rhea Durham are expecting their third child later this fall! They already have two kids, Ella Rae, 4, and Michael, 2.

Alex Rodriguez and his wife, Cynthia, welcomed their second child, a baby girl weighing 7 lbs, 2 oz in Miami late Monday night.

“We are thrilled with the birth of our second daughter and the blessing of having two beautiful, healthy children in our lives,” Rodriguez said in a statement.

The baby, whose name is yet to be released joins big sister Natasha, 3.

Update: People confirms that Connor Cruise will play a young version of Will Smith in the upcoming drama Seven Pounds. This turns out to be different than what the National Enquirer reported, but he’s none the less making his debut. This is the same director/producer team from The Pursuit of Happyness - the film is set to release January 16, 2009.

The National Enquirer claims that Connor Cruise, 13, ( Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s son) has landed his first movie role - playing Will Smith’s son in the, The Trial of the Chicago 7, directed by Cruise’s good friend, Steven Spielberg. Apparently there were no favors here, Connor went in and auditioned like everyone else, and won over execs in the process,

“Tom is thrilled because Connor went through the auditions like all the other children and seems to have been given the job based on his talent,” says a source. “Nicole’s excited too, because Connor has wanted to act for a long time. Now he’s getting his big break.”

Will Smith who plays activist Bobby Seale in the film, is also a very good friend of Tom’s. The movie will chronicle the trial of demonstrators arrested during the 1968 Democratic National Convention.
