Keri Russell’s little bundle of baby is almost completely melting my coal heart. ALMOST. Then my brain snaps in telling me that those baby things caca on your hand, pee pee on your fine things and scream and shout while you’re trying to watch Conan O’Brien. If they didn’t do that, they would be precious to me.

Today’s Page Six provides a vehicle for Details editor Dan Peres to either school or destroy his former staffer and current freelancer Bart Blasengame. In the December editor’s letter, Peres claims that Blasengame printed a quote by Ben Affleck that Affleck “never made.” Also, the article (which lacked the writer’s byline) “implied” that Affleck might leave L.A.—but Peres writes that was a “statement” that Affleck never issued. A Details publicist then says that the Details editor and Ben Affleck are “good friends,” and says that “Dan realized there were things taken out of context.” What now? Were things taken out of context—or were they invented, as Peres says? Because there’s a really serious line there to be considered before destroying someone’s career in journalism to appease a snippy star. These are the kind of things that keep lawyers very busy! Blasengame did not immediately return an email this morning. Details recently killed his story on Sarah Silverman, which then appeared in Nerve.

Ben Affleck blamed his relationship on JLo as the reason why he’s been in a few shitty movies including the ones he starred with her. 

Ben told Details Magazine i n their November issue, “It was probably bad for my career (dating JLo). What happens is this sort of bleed-over from the tabloids across your movie work. You go to a movie, you only go once. But the tabloids and Internet are everywhere. You can really subsume the public image of somebody. I ended up in an unfortunate crosshair position where I was in a relationship and [the media] mostly lied and inflated a bunch of salacious stuff for the sake of selling magazines. And I paid a certain price for that. Then, in concert with some movies that didn’t work…”

Ben is right. He sure did a lot of shitty movies after he broke up with JLo:

Turkey after turkey! JLo’s booty scent probably clouded up his better judgement. Either that or Ben is just a moron that doesn’t know how to pick good movies and likes to blame things on others. I’ll go with the latter.
