I don’t know is funnier about those picture Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’s expressions in them or that could be a preview of what their mug shots could like!

DON’T expect to see Ashlee Simpson back on “Saturday Night Live†any time soon to promote her new album “Bittersweet World.†An insider said her father, Joe Simpson, “wanted her to go on ‘SNL’ - where her first appearance, in 2004, was marred by her lip-synching fiasco - and they said no.†Word is Ashlee was “a pain†during her time at “SNL†and the producers have notoriously long memories. A rep for Ashlee said, “We’re not doing ‘SNL’ because they’re dark the week we are here in April and there were no other opportunities later in the year.â€

I don’t see anything special here. Average body in an expensive swimsuit. In case you are wondering how I know it’s expensive, I am going by the hoop you can see on her right hip. Pretty much the tell-tale on that. Don’t get me wrong, for a pale girl that has a load of saltwater eating off her makeup, she sure doesn’t look bad. I mean, I would take her out for a night at the ole’ Olive Garden. I would even splurge and order the Tour of Italy and the endless jug of wine.
And I would tell her that she is so pretty.
More Ashlee Simpson pictures.

Ashlee Simpson has come a long way since being a style wallflower in the shadow of older sister Jessica.
“I used to look at a beautiful girl on the cover of a magazine and think I could never be that,†the 23-year-old singer tells Us Weekly in its latest issue, on newsstands now.
But Simpson – who has churned through countless haircuts and colors over her six years of stardom – has graced recent covers of Cosmopolitan, CosmoGirl! and Seventeen.
Now she’s the cover girl on Us’ 2008 Beauty Makeover Special issue, which includes 30 pages of bonus makeovers, tips, and star style.
“I definitely embrace my sexy side, but at the end of the day, I still feel like the girl next door,†she tells Us. “I like to get dressed up now, and that’s something I’ve never been into before.â€
Simpson also opens up to Us about her April 2006 rhinoplasty. “I think as long as people have two eyes, then you probably know the answer,†she says.
“[Plastic surgery] is something that everybody should think about for a really long time,†she tells Us. “Once you know it’s something you really feel comfortable with, then to each their own.â€
Still, the singer downplays her own transformation. “I was never really unhappy with how I looked, [and] I don’t think I am more beautiful than I was [before],†Simpson tells Us. “I just see the same old goofy girl I see every day.â€

Nick Lachey is returning to his roots.
The former Newlyweds star is executive producing a pilot for an MTV reality show, which the network describes as a version of the ’80s movie and TV show Fame, according to The Hollwood Reporter.
The yet-to-be-named program focuses on students at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Lachey’s alma mater. (Sarah Jessica Parker and Carmen Electra are also famous former students.)
“The stories and relationships are all set to music that’s organic to what’s going on in the school and also performed by the kids,†Tony DiSanto, executive VP of series development and programming at the network, tells the Reporter. “This is a genre-busting, creative experiment that I’m really excited about.â€
As an example DiSanto said a scene could feature kids breaking into dance in the cafeteria, which sounds a lot like a real-life High School Musical, or the soundtrack could come from a scene in which a student is practicing his or her instrument.
Lachey, who proposed the project, is executive producing it with Marc Platt and Russell Heldt.

A press representative for pop singer Ashlee Simpson is denying claims the star was drunk during a radio interview on Tuesday, saying she was “simply just tired.” The 23-year-old appeared on Washington D.C.’s Hot 99.5 Kane in the Morning show, but attracted attention because she appeared to have trouble speaking and slurred her words while on the air. But her spokesperson is adamant Simpson’s behavior was due to her busy promotional schedule.
A representative for the star says, “Ashlee was absolutely not intoxicated this morning on Hot 99.5. “She has been working extremely hard traveling across the country to promote her upcoming new album by performing at night and waking up very early the next day to do radio interviews in the morning — like any of us would be — she was simply just tired.”
