Looking at the pictures of Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson at the premiere of their movie Bride Wars last night, it looks like they didn’t have to act hating each other in the movie. Brrrrr

For those of you have been reading the blog for a long time, you know that Anne Hathaway has not always been one of my favorite people. Therefore it may comes a shock to you that I’m actually going to say some nice things about her. I had not planned to do so and was basically going to ask you how much you would be willing to pay to hang out with Anne for drinks. But, Anne changed my mind. No, she didn’t call or e-mail. But, if what she says is true than, I wouldn’t mind hanging out with her for a night. It sounds like other than the fact she was dating a criminal we have a lot in common.
On Sunday night, Anne attended the Cracked Christmas Fundraiser which raises money for LGBT youth who are having problems. As part of the night’s festivities, Anne decided that she wanted to auction herself off. Not for keeps, but just for drinks. What made me want to be nice to Anne was this quote she gave right before the bidding.
“I’m not usually very forward, but I thought if there was ever a crowd for me to do something like this, this is my crowd so I would like to auction myself off, for drinks somewhere fabulous and basically get you totally s— faced. Tell me what I’m worth.”
You have to love a woman who loves the idea of going out and getting absolutely hammered and from the words, sounds like she will pay for it as well. Considering the three women who bid for the date with Anne shelled out $12,000, it sounds like Anne buying the drinks is the least she could do. Now, if she really, really wants me to like her she should also say that in addition to auctioning herself off, that she matched the $12,000 the women all donated for their date.
So far, I haven’t heard that from Anne, but I think that would be a very good idea.

Raffaello Follieri, the Italian businessman who dated actress Anne Hathaway, says his health has deteriorated because of “unspeakably unsanitary” jail conditions and wants to be moved.
Follieri, 30, once enjoyed a lavish globe-trotting lifestyle and dated Hathaway for four years before he was arrested in June for lying about ties to the Vatican for a real estate scheme.
Since he was sentenced to 4-1/2 years in prison for fraud last month, he has had to contend with rotten food, foul odors and unclean toilets and as result is running a fever and has blood in his urine, according to a letter from his lawyer made available on Wednesday.
“He says that he cannot eat because the food appears to be spoiled and that the toilet and shower facilities are unspeakably unsanitary,” the letter from Flora Edwards said.
“There is excrement in the shower and rats are roaming freely in the area. He says the stench is intolerable,” the letter continued.
Follieri has been held in a windowless dormitory with 120 other men. Edwards requested he be moved to a different jail while awaiting transfer to a prison.
Follieri pleaded guilty last month to profiting $2.4 million from a scheme that exaggerated Vatican ties to mislead investors, including California supermarket billionaire Ron Burkle, into thinking he could buy the Catholic Church’s real estate at cheaper prices.
Hathaway, who starred in “The Devil Wears Prada,” has said she was shocked when Follieri was arrested.
A spokesman for the jail could not be immediately reached for comment.

A Manhattan judge sentenced actress Anne Hathaway’s ex-boyfriend to 4 1/2 years in prison for cheating investors by claiming he had Vatican connections that allowed him to buy Catholic Church property at a discount.
Raffaello Follieri pleaded guilty last month to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering, and had agreed to forfeit $2.4 million.
The U.S. government said Follieri claimed he was the chief financial officer of the Vatican — and showed at least one business contact a phony letter in Italian, purportedly written to him in 2002 by Pope John Paul II.
Prosecutors said he used several million dollars from investors to travel the world on private planes, enjoying expensive hotels and dinners and renting yachts. He spent $37,000 a month for a Manhattan apartment.

So, it is always with great trepidation that I read any article over at Kneepads magazine because you have to dig through the adjectives to find any kind of meat to the story. If the article is an interview with Anne Hathaway, I am doubly cautious. The headline is what got me. People claims that Anne has a sexy new mystery man. To me, that implies. Hell, it doesn’t even imply. To me that says she is dating some guy who is sexy and she doesn’t want anyone to know who he is. Well, let’s look at her quotes to People about said mystery guy. These are all taken in order and in context.”This guy I know in L.A. is kind of doing it for me right now.”
OK, when I read that I say, ok People didn’t lie in their headline and Anne found some new thief to love. It also kind of says that she is just using him for sex, but really, whatever happens between two people is really none of my business unless they film it and it ends up on the internet and then I’m forced to watch an hour or so of boring sex between people I really don’t care about.
“When I think of sexy, I think of him.”
Kind of like when I think of cheeseburgers I think of In-N-Out. I can relate. So again, I think we are all agreed that she has a guy. Well, see what you think now.
“You know when sometimes you don’t know someone very well – you’ll probably never see them again – but you just meet them and you’re like ‘WOW, you really have it going on’?”
So, what I am getting from this is that she had a one night stand with some guy who was probably married or in a relationship or that she hired an escort. Or, it could be some guy she worked with or met a party and they had one date and then had sex. That really wouldn’t be a one night stand. I just don’t get the probably never see him again part which is why I thought of married or in a relationship. Or it could be one of those missed connections thing on Craigslist. Has anyone ever heard of anyone meeting someone on there? It is almost like you have to get lucky that the person you had a little crush on also had one on you and then one of you decided to post on Craigslist and the other person had to look that exact same day. That is like a million to one. Anyway, back to Anne.
“I’m totally single right now.”
Umm, okay. So, it was just a one night stand or she doesn’t ever expect to see him again? If you like someone that much and there was any hope, would you say that you were totally single?
And her last quote on the subject.
“But I happened to meet a sexy guy the other day.”
OK, so now I’m thinking to myself she saw some guy at Starbucks and has been using her imagination and some alone time in the bedroom to turn this guy into reality.

Prosecutors said Monday they were surprised the former boyfriend of actress Anne Hathaway sent a judge a photo of himself and the pope while seeking leniency for cheating investors of millions of dollars by claiming he could buy Catholic Church property on the cheap.
They urged the judge Thursday to impose the more than four years in prison that Raffaello Follieri agreed to when he entered a guilty plea last month rather than the three years his defense lawyers requested in a recent submission of their own.
The prosecutors said Follieri included pictures of the pope and other clergymen even though his claims of Vatican ties were the foundation of his fraud.
“This is surprising because Follieri used these same photographs and connections in order to defraud investors and now seeks to use them in an effort to obtain a reduced sentence,” they said.
Follieri, 30, last month pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering and agreed to forfeit $2.4 million.
Prosecutors said Follieri betrayed and hurt numerous friends and business associates as he “committed crimes out of greed and a desire to live a lifestyle like the rich and famous.”
Follieri used several million dollars from investors to travel the world on private planes, spending thousands of dollars on food, wine, hotels, yacht rentals, flowers, cosmetics, clothes, wine, expensive dinners, dog walking services and personal vacations for himself, his girlfriend and his parents, the government said.
He spent another $37,000 per month for a luxury Manhattan condo. As part of his plea, Follieri agreed to forfeit any interest in 50 expensive watches and other jewelry.
Asked during a recent appearance on CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” what she carried away from her four-year relationship with Follieri, Hathaway said she kept their dog.
The government noted that the U.S. Probation Office had recommended a sentence of more than eight years.
Follieri duped investors from at least May 2005 through June 2007 by using his “considerable charm and skill” to trick people into investing, the government said.

“Follieri shamelessly told investors that the Catholic Church was vulnerable as a result of its financial obligations arising out of the sexual abuse lawsuits against the church while simultaneously misrepresenting that his connections with the Vatican enabled him to obtain special and exclusive access to church properties at cheap values,” prosecutors said.
They said Follieri assured representatives of the Catholic Church in the United States and elsewhere that he had the best of intentions in buying their properties even as he told investors he would develop them for substantial profits, prosecutors said.
The government said Follieri came to the United States in 2003 and immediately lied about his background, his business history, his education, his family and his connections to the Vatican.
In 2004, Follieri and his father started a real estate company, the Follieri Group, and enticed Yucaipa Cos to invest, the government said. Yucaipa is controlled by supermarket billionaire Ron Burkle, a close friend of former President Clinton’s.
Follieri showed at least one representative of Yucaipa a phony letter in Italian, purportedly written in 2002 by Pope John Paul II to Follieri, and said the letter authorized him to represent the Vatican in the United States in the purchase of church properties, it said.
Follieri claimed he was the chief financial officer of the Vatican; he exploited a relationship with a nephew of then-Secretary of State of the Vatican, Cardinal Angelo Sodano, to his advantage; and he hired two monsignors to travel with him, prosecutors said.
Despite these things, Follieri was unable to buy church properties at a discount because various dioceses throughout the country sold properties to the highest bidder, the government said.
When he was arrested, FBI agents recovered a letter in Follieri’s safe from Sodano saying “how perturbed I am to hear that your company continues to occasionally present itself as having ties to `the Vatican,’ due to the fact that my nephew, Andrea, has agreed on some occasions to provide you with professional consulting services,” the government said.

While three inches may be enough for most women, over in Los Angeles the rule seems the higher the better, and actress Anne Hathaway is no exception.
Despite being a respectable 5ft8in in bare feet the Devil Wears Prada star added another five inches in sky high stilettos at an awards ceremony last night.
Anne arrived for the ELLE Magazine’s 15th Annual Women in Hollywood tribute at the Four Seasons Hotel in the towering stilettos, with sharp silver heels.
Luckily for the 25-year-old she didn’t have to walk far, arriving at the glittering event by car. She teemed the maroon shoes with a blue wrap dress and tied a multi coloured scarf around her waist.

When Anne Hathaway rebuffed David Letterman’s attempts to discuss her ex-boyfriend, Rafaello Follieri, during her appearance last week on “The Late Show,” some wondered: Would all things Follieri be off-limits when she appeared on “Saturday Night Live” Oct. 4?
Just moments into her opening monologue, the answer became clear. Hathaway joked that, last summer, “I broke up with my boyfriend… and two weeks later he was sent to prison for fraud … I mean, we’ve all been there, right, ladies?”
Friends close to Hathaway say they weren’t surprised that Hathaway was a good sport.
“She is so moving on,” says a friend. “People didn’t really give her enough credit when she was in the middle of it all. News flash — she’s always been fun and a little self-deprecating.”
Hathaway’s appearance on “SNL” helped the show score one of its highest-rated shows since 2002. Tina Fey, who reprised her role as vice-presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was also a huge draw. Although a few well-placed sources maintain that Fey will indeed appear as Palin every week until the elections, a rep for “SNL” says, “There is no way to confirm her.”

Anne Hathaway is breaking her silence about her split from Italian beau Raffaello Follieri, who was arrested in June on charges of wire fraud and money laundering.
“As soon as I found out about the arrest, I had to get on a plane to Mexico to do a press tour for Get Smart,” she says in October’s W. “And then I spent a week in shock at a friend’s house.”
(Vanity Fair has reported that Hathaway, 25, broke off her four-year relationship with Follieri, 30, just hours before his arrest. “You were the love of my life,” she told him by phone on June 23.)
On Wednesday, Follieri pleaded guilty to wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy. He will serve more than four years in prison.
“It’s a situation where the rug was pulled out from under me all of a sudden,” Hathaway tells W of the incident. “But just as suddenly, my friends threw another rug back under me. One said, ‘Go stay at my house.’
“And [Get Smart co-star] Steve Carell stepped up for me during an interview when someone asked a question [about it]. He said, ‘At some point you’re going to have to talk about this time in your life. You don’t have to do it this week. I’ll take care of anything that comes your way.’
“I’ve been shown such kindness,” Hathaway goes on, wiping a tear from her face. “Not everyone gets that. A lot of people go through tough times alone.”
She says she is still not over the ordeal (she admitted to reading Gandhi’s autobiography When Things Fall Apart).
While visiting her Rachel Getting Married director Jonathan Demme and his family, she got sad.
“They all had so much going on. And I just started to cry because I thought, ‘I don’t have a life right now,’” she says. “And I haven’t for some time, and I just haven’t noticed.”
“In the fall I’ll start focusing again,” Hathaway continues, “but right now I need to be me for a little bit.”

Newly single Anne Hathaway says her June split from Italian beau Raffaello Follieri - currently under investigation for wire fraud - made her stronger.
?”The worst thing that happens to you can be the best thing for you, if you don’t let it get the best of you,” Hathaway, 25, says - quoting humorist Will Rogers - in Britain’s The Independent.?
The break up didn’t turn her off from marriage.??
“I’ve always wanted a family,” she explains. “I’m not one of those people who says, ‘What’s the point of marriage?’”
Her goal???
To “find someone you can be yourself around, who makes you laugh, who challenges you in a good way, and where you just speak off each other,” she says.??
“My parents have been married more than 25 years, with all the glory and all the pain you can imagine, but they’ve stayed together,” Hathaway continues. “I want a strong marriage like that.
The Get Smart star may be ready to date again — but don’t expect to see her with a co-star.
??”I try not to date where I work,” she says. “It makes life easier. Besides, the possibility has never really arisen.”
But she’s keeping her options open.??
“I don’t say no to anybody,” she says, “because I’d hope that people wouldn’t say no to me because I’m an actor - but they’d have to be a pretty extraordinary.”??
For now, Hathaway says she’s “just a person living my life. I don’t take myself too seriously, to be honest. It just seems silly, because if I thought about it too much, all I could say is, ‘Why me?’”?

How long will it be until Anne Hathaway’s naked photos surface on the net?
Not too long, according to Gawker.com. “We’ll give it another two weeks or so.”
Hathaway, 25, has been the subject of non-stop tabloid coverage following her recent breakup with scam artist Raffaelo Follieri of Italy. Follieri, 30, was arrested in June for fraud.
But it appears Hathaway’s real problems could be just around the corner.
According to the Enquirer, Follieri had reportedly taken several nude photos of Hathaway, Gawker writes. The piece de resistance of which is a prized and “sizzling” photo of her in black fishnet stockings, a garter belt and bustier that completely exposes her top portion. Follieri is believed to have paid a famous photographer to take that picture.
Hathaway’s brother tried to recover the pictures from a storage unit, only to find out that the FBI had beaten him to it the day before, according to Gawker.
The photographer is believed to have copies and it is questionable whether Follieri’s friends do as well.

Everybody is making a big deal about the fact that the feds have seized Anne Hathaway’s diaries which she had over at Raffaello Follieri’s place thinking they will provide the answers to everything, from what he did, to whether or not there is life on other planets. It’s a crock. I know that as a guy and a a curious bastard that if my girlfriend left her diaries out in the open at my place it would only be a matter of time before they were screaming at me to come open them. They would be beckoning me with all of their secrets and insights. I would read them and then feel guilty for hours but it wouldn’t stop me from reading them again when something new was written or to bring up what I read in a fight.Yeah, yeah, I’m an ass, but you can’t tell me that you wouldn’t do the same damn thing and everyone knows that. So, my guess is that these diaries are probably appointment planners or something as generic and boring. If they were the big bang, don’t you think the feds would have taken them in their 20 other searches of the place?
What I found way more interesting in the NY Daily News article today, but seems to have been glossed over is the fact that Anne may have got lover boy to come back to the US to be arrested by the feds.
The article states that Raffy boy was over in Italy from which he probably would not have been extradited, but was talked into coming back to the US by Anne.
“He was in Europe, working on a deal,” says a source. “He didn’t have to come back to New York. He knew he was being investigated. But she kept calling him, saying they needed to resolve their future. A few days after his return, he was arrested.”
Nice huh? Wonder how that will play out in the film. Did she do it because she made a deal with the feds or did she do it out of revenge or, was it simply that she wanted to break it off with him in person? I’m going with the revenge thing, although making a deal with the feds to save your own skin is not a bad way to go. I mean she is a famous actress and he probably was growing tiresome so she dumps him to save herself, continues to make tons of money and achieve fame and laughs silently as he stews in prison. The problem with that theory is that Raffy isn’t going to prison for life for this and if she did sell him out, he is going to be one unhappy dude when he gets out of the clink and will probably sell his version of the story whether true or not to the tabloids. No, hang on. He seems more of a book person. Ghost written with lots of photos of Anne in really compromising positions.
This trial will be really, really good. I think it will easily eclipse the Christie Brinkley thing for juiciness.

Anne Hathaway could be drawn deeper into the fraud scandal of her ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, now that FBI agents have seized the actress’ private journals, sources tells us.
The agents confiscated the intimate diaries of the “Devil Wears Prada” star during another raid on Follieri’s $37,500-a-month Trump Tower pad, according to the sources. Seeking to bolster their case against the dashing Italian, who has been charged with 11 counts of fraud and money laundering, agents are also said to have seized photos of Follieri with Bill and Hillary Clinton, Pope John Paul II, and John and Cindy McCain. Also confiscated were documents, watches, a Tiffany clock, an antique Bible and personal photos of Follieri and Hathaway.
Hathaway, who has been charged with no crime, has cut off all contact with the 30-year-old Follieri, say sources. While Follieri recently had associates return to Hathaway a $250,000 abstract painting that had hung in his pad, “she’s changed her numbers so he can’t reach her,” says a friend. “Raffaello has been trying to call her all the time.”
Hathaway’s rep did not immediately respond to a request for a comment.
The disconnect notice is bound to darken the 7½-by-8-foot Metropolitan Correctional Center cell where Follieri has been held since his June 24 arrest, which stemmed from his bid to sell Catholic Church properties.
“Raffaello is doing very badly,” says a friend of Follieri, who was hospitalized for an anxiety attack the day he was locked up. “He says people are abusing him. He’s a broken man.”
According to friends, he still wonders whether Hathaway, 25, helped put him behind bars. “He was in Europe, working on a deal,” says a source. “He didn’t have to come back to New York. He knew he was being investigated. But she kept calling him, saying they needed to resolve their future. A few days after his return, he was arrested.”
Last week, prosecutors said Follieri was considering a plea deal. “It’s very fishy,” says one source. “He hasn’t even been indicted yet, and already they’re talking a plea? But he may have no money and the feds may have him so scared that he thinks this is his best shot.”
Follieri is also said to feel abandoned by his longtime adviser, lawyer Marty Edelman. According to a source, Edelman has refused to confer with Follieri’s current attorney, Flora Edwards, telling her he may be a witness should the case go to trial.
A lawyer for Edelman declined to comment.
Edwards says Follieri “is holding up reasonably well” in “a difficult and hostile environment.” She won’t say whether he’s mulling a plea, however, adding that “I have no information that Mary Edelman is a witness and he has not refused to speak with me.”
