Britney Spears could’ve performed on American Idol or been a guest judge had she pulled herself together. In a conference call yesterday with US magazine, Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe explained the problem with Britney:

“Britney, at this moment in time, I don’t think is well enough to do anything,” he continued. “I think she needs looking after. I think she needs to pull herself together.”
Lythgoe added that Spears is an “exceptionally talented girl” but “needs taking care of right now.”

Okay, who’s the crazy one here? The gas station bandit or the producer who thinks she’s talented? I’m at a loss. I guess I’ll just toss a coin in the air then walk away because I really couldn’t care less at this point. In fact, I’m going to read this recipe for Wiener schnitzel instead and probably be a better person for it. Wait, it’s made with veal! I’ve been going about this all wrong. I guess I should clean these bread crumbs off before I put my pants back on. Or not…

AMERICAN IDOL judge PAULA ABDUL once experienced theft at the hands of an obsessed fan - after a medical employee stole a sample of her urine. The 45-year-old was shocked when her doctor asked her to provide a second urine sample - because the specimen she had previously provided was taken by a member of hospital staff. She recalls, “Well, this is gross, but I was once at the gynaecologist and my doctor said, ‘We asked you to do a urine sample, so where is it?’ “I told him that I’d left it out in reception, and when he came back he said, ‘This is really embarrassing but a man who works here is your biggest fan and he stole it.’ Needless to say he got fired. In hindsight it’s a funny story.”

Former American Idol contestant Jessica Sierra begged police officers not to arrest her following a drunken bar brawl in Florida at the weekend - and offered oral sex in exchange for the favor.

The disgraced star, 22, was taken into custody by local authorities on Saturday morning after refusing to leave Florida’s Full Moon Saloon in Ybor City on cops’ orders following a disturbance.

She was charged with felony counts of possession of cocaine and battery, in addition to two misdemeanors: disorderly intoxication and obstructing or opposing an officer.

But according to the police report obtained by TMZ.com, Sierra tried to bribe the arresting officers, saying, “I’ll suck your d–k if you don’t take me to jail.”

When her offer was refused, she launched into a racist rant, shouting, “F–k you n–ger!”

Sierra is currently being held at the Orient Road Jail, after a judge refused to grant her bail.

This is the latest in Sierra’s ongoing legal troubles - in November, she was sentenced to probation in relation to an April incident, in which she was accused of hitting a man on the head with a glass at a Tampa, Florida, nightclub. She was also charged with cocaine possession after cops found a small amount of the illegal substance on her as she was taken to jail.

Former “American Idol” finalist Jessica Sierra was jailed early Saturday after a drunken confrontation with police and onlookers, authorities said.

The arrest comes less than two weeks after she pleaded no contest to charges of battery and possession of cocaine.

Sierra, 22, was charged Saturday with disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest and violating conditions of her parole on earlier felony battery and possession charges. She was being held without bond.

Sierra, who was supposed to be completing a drug-rehabilitation program to be televised nationally, was arrested at a bar in Ybor City at 2:10 a.m. Saturday.

“As the defendant was taken into custody, she attempted to push away and flee the scene,” the arresting officers wrote.

Her attorney, John Fitzgibbons, said he heard about his client’s latest run-in with the law Saturday and had not spoken with her.

“I’ve been getting calls all day, but don’t have any comment,” he said.

On Nov. 19, Circuit Judge Gregory Holder sentenced Sierra to 12 months probation and random drug screening. She was accused of hitting a man on the head with a glass at a Tampa nightspot in April. Officers then found a small amount of cocaine while searching her afterward at the county jail.

A top-10 contestant on the show in 2005, Sierra entered a California rehab facility in July that was to be documented on VH1’s reality show “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew,” sometime early next year.
