Paula Abdul is extremely disappointed in the new music video for “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow,” according to a source close to the “American Idol” judge.

“She doesn’t think it’s Heidi Montag-bad, but she’s still trying to pretend like it didn’t happen. If Randy (Jackson) wasn’t involved, she’d be more vocal about it, but she does appreciate the fact that he was involved,” said the source.

The video, pegged to Abdul’s first release in more than a decade, was supposed to launch her big comeback. “She’s really got stage fright and it’s taken her by surprise,” explained the source. “That’s why she had to pretape her Super Bowl spot.”

The net result could be an even softer-than-normal Abdul for the duration of “American Idol.” “She’s got new perspective on what the kids are going through. She’s going to go really easy on them.”

Sadly Maxim Online released these pictures of American Idol 7’s Amy Davis a little too late because the chances of her not getting eliminated tonight are as small as the bikini she is wearing in these photos. 

Plus the pretty girls with a model past never make it to the Top 12. 

Now you know I don’t watch the show anymore, and usually don’t even care about anyone on it, but I just had to talk a little about this latest little issue. Lyndsey Parker over at Yahoo Music wrote a really great piece last night about one of the Top 24 named Carly Smithson. It really is good and I promise worth your time reading even if you can’t stand American Idol.

The premise of Lyndsey’s article is that Carly Smithson nee Carly Hennessey is a former teen pop star who despite the backing of MCA and the expenditure of several million dollars could not sell any records and should not be allowed to compete against inexperienced singers.

Lyndsey goes into a great deal of depth about her indignation at this injustice, but what she glosses over is this. Carly Hennessey was supposed to be the next big thing. She was big in Ireland when she and her family decided to come to the US to get a recording contract here in LA. Upon hearing her demo tape, the label boss at MCA signed her on the spot. This was back in 2001. It is inconceivable to me that the people over at 19 Management didn’t know exactly who Carly was when she auditioned. Carly was the subject of newspaper articles all over the world at the time her album failed. There was so much money spent on it for so little return that she became the lesson on marketing and how not to market new acts.

I want to be clear that there is no way, despite what everyone thinks that American Idol can be rigged in favor of the show up to a point. What they can do though is to load the show with as many ringers as possible so they don’t end up with a Taylor Hicks again.

Instead of spending the money to try and release a new album by Carly Hennessey the Irish failure. They instead remake her into Carly Smithson, put her on American Idol and let the show do the publicity for them and the marketing. Even if she gets voted off tomorrow, she has been given more publicity than she would have ever otherwise received without a huge expenditure of money. The longer she stays, the better for 19 and Jive.

Make no mistake though. They know who she is, who she was, and will sign her to a record deal when the show is over. They can’t control if she wins or not, but they sure as hell can control the way that you the viewing public sees her, and the way to make sure each and every person out there remembers who she is so there will be no more multi-million dollar failures when her new album comes out.

Poor Paula Abdul was shocked to discover an adoring fan photographing her over a toilet cubicle partition. Paula revealed:

“I was mortified, and she didn’t think there was anything wrong with it. I honestly was weirded out by that and she was so nervous that she thought I wouldn’t even notice.

And I was like, ‘No, no, that’s not cool.’ I said to her, ‘A real good tip, don’t do that to anyone else.’”

Katharine McPhee and Nick Cokas’ back from honeymoon, the newlyweds are back on the mainland. And it looks like the “American Idol” babe did a little shopping at the Louis Vuitton store while she was away.

She was spotted at LAX yesterday with her hubby toting around several pieces of Louis luggage, as well as a shopping bag from the French designer’s store.

Singer-actress Katharine McPhee married producer Nick Cokas on Saturday in Beverly Hills. McPhee and Cokas met in 2005 when they performed in a Los Angeles theater production of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Their union began as a friendship and blossomed when McPhee auditioned for American Idol later that year.

Maybe now she’ll start to sing.

Former American Idol songbird Katharine McPhee appears to be “Over It”–the media attention that propelled her to fame, that is.

Spotted by a gaggle of photogs while honeymooning with new husband Nick Cokas, the golden-throated beauty covered her face and beat a hasty retreat from the lenses. For his part, Cokas, casually bedecked in shorts and flip-flops, seemed to revel in the attention. And hey, can you blame him? The dude has scored some serious bragging rights, especially considering that he’s nearly 20 years older than his new bride.

We can only hope for Nick’s sake that McPhee isn’t as bashful in more private settings, if you catch our drift.

Jordin Sparks probably couldn’t have picked a better set of circumstances for her first Super Bowl.

First off, the “American Idol” champ was selected to sing the national anthem. Then, her favorite team, the New York Giants - and the former team of her retired football player dad, Phillippi Sparks - was playing in the big game. Finally, the game was held at the University of Phoenix stadium - just a few miles away from her home.

“When they approached me to sing at the Super Bowl, I was like, ‘Yeah I want to sing at the Super Bowl - are you crazy?’” Sparks said as she got glammed up for her performance Sunday. “I’m very very very happy.”

And that was before her dad’s old team stunned the New England Patriots 17-14.

“You couldn’t ask for a more fitting story,” said Phillippi Sparks, who retired from the Giants in 2001. “How could it have been better aligned?”

Jordin Sparks, 18, had her family nearby as she got ready. Her father offered encouragement, and her mom Jodi lent her the jewelry she wore wear with her Dolce & Gabbana sleeveless dress. Her grandparents helped get her clothes together, and her younger brother kept her company.

“Growing up around (my dad) was really cool,” said Sparks. “I became a huge (football) freak … I have always wished that I could have played and I can’t.”

American idol singing star Katharine McPhee married Hollywood actor Nick Cokas yesterday in a huge grand ceremony in Los Angeles California.The former Idol has been dating Cokas, who is 19 years older than her, for over a year after they met on the set of a theatre production. The couple got engaged last year but finally wed at Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church yesterday. McPhee wore a strapless ivory Manuel Mota gown to walk down the aisle at the ceremony which was attended by 305 guests, including fellow American Idol contestants Kellie Pickler and Mandisa.

Simon Cowell has finally owned up to his plastic surgery secret that has kept his youthful forehead astonishingly free of any wrinkles or lines. The 47-year old Cowell admits to getting botox regularly, but denies having plastic surgery.

What spurred Cowell’s confession about using Botox was an attack from co-judge Louis Walsh on the television show The X Factor, who accused Cowell of getting as much surgery as Sharon Osbourne.

“No, absolutely not. I have not had cosmetic surgery. Yes, I’ve had Botox, but not in an obsessive way,” says Cowell.

Cowell dismissed rumors that he uses hair color to hide gray hairs. “I’ve never dyed my hair, ever and I wouldn’t,” says Cowell.

The American Idol judge previously spoke about how he thought that cosmetic surgery looks unattractive on men.

“I wouldn’t have plastic surgery, it looks ridiculous on guys,” said Cowell.

Simon Cowell says that his youth regimen consists of doing exercises at home and in his office. “I’d do 100 press-ups before I get in the bath in the morning, then at work after a meeting, I’ll shut the door and do more.”

It is admirable that Simon Cowell is comfortable in his skin and is looking forward to aging without any cosmetic intervention. Looking at Cowell closely, his face looks youthful, except for the crows feet from the sides of his eyes and slight under eye bags.

On the other hand, Simon has a normal aging man’s belly and man boobs which he cannot get rid of with just exercise as only going under the knife and having liposuction or male breast reduction can eliminate the breasts. Simon Cowell is apparently self-conscious about his man boobs and was recently embarrassed when a young girl did an artistic portrait of Simon Cowell with a pair of boobs. Cowell said, “What are those? What are those? Are you saying I have those? Are you? I’m not very happy.”

In medical circles, man boobs are a medical condition known as gynecomastia, which is the development of abnormally large mammary glands in males. This condition is generally the result of a hormonal imbalance, or the side effect of certain medications, obesity, and old age. For many men, the combination of natural weight gain and the aging process will lead them to develop gynecomastia at some point in their lives as in the case of Simon Cowell, Harrison Ford, and John Travolta. While gynecomastia is not a serious physical threat to health, it can lead to increased self consciousness for the person.

Simon Cowell has expressed doubt about reports that Britney Spears is in the midst of a mental breakdown.

The singer’s erratic behaviour has dominated the gossip pages in the last year, with Britney making the news for shaving her head, reported drug abuse and most recently engaging in a very public custody battle with former husband Kevin Federline.

The X Factor and American Idol judge had previously expressed support for the Toxic star, saying he believed a spell away from the madness of Los Angeles could help the 26-year-old clear her head and concentrate on the real priorities in her life.

But with Spears’ recent relationship with photographer Adnan Ghalib apparently now over, a restraining order issued and the starlet reportedly speaking in a British accent, Cowell has now poured scorn on the claims that she is suffering from mental illness.

“Everyone thinks it’s breakdown this and breakdown that. From the kind of stunts she’s pulling now, I think she is the puppet master and completely in control,” Cowell told PageSix.com.

“I really felt for her at one point, I thought she was heading for a meltdown and everything was out of control, but, especially over the past week, I thought she was honestly in control and, more to the point, wants to be in control.

“If you don’t want to get any press attention, just keep your head down, don’t drive yourself anywhere and sit in the back of blacked-out limousine. But if she thinks she knows what she is doing, then good luck to her.”

Clay Aiken will be hitting the Broadway stage for the first time on January 18 when he begins his stint playing Sir Robin in Monty Python’s Spamalot. While Clay admitted to Newsweek that he wasn’t all that familiar with the show prior to signing on: “I thought Monty Python was a person until three months ago,” he’s had a big change of heart since beginning rehearsals.

“The first time I saw it I thought it was the stupidest thing I’d ever seen in my entire life,” he said. “My tour drummer is the Spamalot drummer, and [he] said you’ve got to see it again.” And something tells us anyone who has already seen the show will also want to see it again now that the American Idol runner-up is starring!

Just because the Golden Globes ceremony has been cancelled, doesn’t mean the schwag has. All you have to do is pose with some lame shit and you get it for free. I mean Rumer Willis posed with fucking orange juice. She also posed with bras, vitamin water, Netflix stuffed animal things and whatever else you threw at her. It’s free! If I was the vendor I wouldn’t want her butterhead fugging up my shit. What she needed to do was take those free bras and put them on immediately. Them boobs will hit her knees in no time.

Katharine McPhee was also there posing with the hideous purse ever. That shit is tacky. I know some drag queens that wouldn’t even carry that crap around.
