Following the cancellation of four previous shows due to exhaustion, the pop sensation unleashed a high-energy performance in New York Wednesday night as part of her Monster Ball Tour, and delivered the first of her four sold-out performances at Radio City Music Hall.

The singer, 23, put on quite the show for her hometown crowd, which included Sting, wife Trudie Styler, Donald Trump and, according to a source, Madonna and daughter Lourdes. She opened with “Dance in the Dark,” wearing a costume featuring lightbulb-like adornments, followed by “Just Dance,” with her playing a keytar and strutting onstage like a human disco ball.

Yesterday Actor Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves welcomed their second child–a girl named Vida Alves McConaughey. Vida is their second child; the couple also have a seventeen month old son named Levi. Matthew and Camila issued this statement:

Vida is Portuguese for ‘life’ and that’s what God gave us this morning… Camila’s recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family… thanks for all your well wishes and prayers along the way, another blessed day, we give thanks, just keep livin’, –Matthew and Camila.

Vida was born at 12:13am in Malibu, California where the couple reside. Congratulations to them.

Edit: Are you wondering who the #$^* Camila Alves is and how she got Matthew McConaughey? The first time I heard about her years ago when they first got together I wondered that, too. Let me break it down for you: Matthew probably was just looking for a smokin hot girl (see pictures below) who liked to smoke (he’s a stoner) and was willing to give up smoking to have a family for him–to make a more wholesome image–and then the two of them would go back to lookin’ good and smoking a lot.
