John Mayer got a taste of the big, bad Apple yesterday hanging out in a Lower East Side bar — as a fellow male patron was stabbed in the stomach. The ladies’-man rocker, clad in a leather jacket and jeans, was seen fleeing GoldBar in the wee hours with a gaggle of patrons from the hip lounge on Broome Street after the bloodshed. The 28-year-old victim, who had gotten into an argument with his attacker, was wheeled out on a stretcher moments later and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Lee Daniels has an Oscar-winning movie to his credit, but he still needed some big-time help to draw attention to his latest film about a girl who overcomes crushing abuse.

He got it from Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry: The two are executive producers of “Precious,” which had a premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Winfrey said she was happy to help bring more attention to the film.

“Everyone needs someone to help them navigate,” the TV talk show host explained. “I had Bill Cosby, Quincy Jones, Sidney Poitier and Maya Angelou who I look to. You can’t do that on your own. Someone has to show it to you.”

Daniels produced “Monster’s Ball,” which won Halle Berry an Oscar for best actress in 2002. She adapted “Precious” from Sapphire’s novel “Push.” It tells the story of an illiterate black girl who manages to rise above poverty, sexual and mental abuse. The film, which stars Mo’Nique, Mariah Carey, Paula Patton and others, won the Grand Jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and has been generating Oscar buzz.

Still, Daniels believes the cachet of Oprah and hit filmmaker Perry will help the film, which comes out on Nov. 6, build a greater audience.

Perry’s latest movie, the comedy “I Can Do Bad All By Myself,” opened at the top of the box office this weekend. Besides directing and writing the film, based on his stage play of the same name, Perry co-stars as his brash, cross-dressing alter ego, Madea. Perry’s “Madea Goes to Jail” also opened at No. 1 in February.

“My movies are art films. So many people don’t see art films. People do see Oprah and Tyler’s movies and they do hear Oprah’s word, so it is really good,” Daniels said.

Carey, Patton, and newcomer Gabourey Sidibe, who plays the title role, gathered at a private cocktail reception prior to the movie’s Toronto premiere where they later joined Winfrey on the red carpet.

“I couldn’t wait to get here because I love it so much and I couldn’t wait to see it again. I am just really excited,” said Carey.

Kim Kardashian has revealed the results of her recent weight loss after she posted sexy pictures of herself in a bikini on her Twitter page.

The reality star has lost over 20 pounds but unlike most celebrities who are coy about their methods, she has been quick to proclaim the weight loss is a result of using a weight loss product that she endorses.

Kim, 28, revealed a slimmed down figure and the beginnings of a six pack, and said the product helped her shift the weight ‘fast’.

But although the product has been endorsed by the reality television star, they not been given the seal of approvement by the USA’s Food and Drug Administration which rubber-stamps the safety of such products.

Posting the images on Twitter, the 28-year-old said: ‘I lost my last 6lbs fast & toned up! Loving Quick Trim, adding: ‘Quick Trim does a body good!’

Both her and her sister Khloe promote the product which promotes rapid weight loss.

The diet system makes a wealth of fantastic claims and says it will ‘rid the body of excess water weight, belly bloating and intestinal bulk.’

And no doubt these pictures of Kim, star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, who become famous for her curves, will help to increase sales among her fans.

Sister Khloe claimed the product helped her lose 20 pounds in four weeks. A safe weight loss is a rate of two pounds per week.

However, the weight loss product has not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the agency responsible for regulating and supervising the safety of foods, dietary supplements, drugs, and vaccines.

Side effects of the product include insomnia, diarrhea, irregular heartbeat, dizziness, vomiting, headache, loss of appetite, raised blood pressure, and increased heart rate.

Celebrities such as Britney Spears and Nicole Richie have both battled addictions to weight loss pills.

Meanwhile away from the cameras Kim has been busy creating a new untitled reality TV show about PR.

According to People magazine, a pilot for the show has been shot the series is due to be made next year by the makers of reality show ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ and ‘Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami.’

West was photographed holding a bottle of Hennessey on VMA red carpet.

Kanye West was asked to leave Radio City Music Hall not long after he crashed the MTV Video Music Awards stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video.

The rapper rushed onto the stage and immediately protested Swift’s win, saying Beyoncé instead deserved the honor.

“I’m sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time,” ‘Ye proclaimed after he pulled the microphone out of the country star’s hands. B looked stunned as she sat by in the audience.

West, of course, has a history of awards-show tirades, beginning in 2004 at the American Music Awards when he bolted during the show after losing out on Best New Artist and later telling reporters, “I felt like I was definitely robbed, and I refused to give any politically correct bullsh—ass comment … I was the best new artist this year.”

Two years later at the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards, West took his complaints to the stage in a similar fashion to tonight’s rant.

Justice and Simian’s “We Are Your Friends” bested West for an award and the rapper interrupted their speech as he popped up onstage saying he should have won, because his clip “cost a million dollars and Pamela Anderson was in it.”

He later apologized for his stunt, explaining he had a “little sippy sippy” before the production.

West seemed to take that instance in stride as he joked he was going to have another “sippy sippy” before the night was over.

But his verbal attack against Swift had a more vicious tone. According to a tweet from Jay-Z’s DJ, Neil Armstrong, Swift and her mother were seen backstage crying afterward; Beyoncé brought Swift onstage for another chance at her acceptance speech later in the show. Various celebs have lashed out against West on Twitter, including Pink, who had to be escorted away from the rapper by security.

Prior to Sunday night’s show, West was captured by photographers on the red carpet swigging from a bottle of Hennessy. In multiple pictures West can be seen cradling the bottle as he and his girlfriend Amber Rose were snapped; he is also seen sharing the bottle with Pete Wentz, and in a different shot, West is standing near Joe Jackson, who is holding it. Following his rant against Swift, West returned to his seat and flipped off the audience, who began booing him, before he sat down.

He was booed again in the show when Diddy announced the nominees for Best Male Video. “What I say?” Diddy asked, as the boos rained down.

West had already left Radio City Music Hall by then, however.
