Emma Watson ditches the movie star glamour as she starts uni in America
Harry Potter star Emma Watson seems to have made a smooth transition from her glamorous life as an actress to a simple life of a student. Emma had magic tricks up her sleeves to charm her classmates on the first day of her college.
Buzz up!
The 19-year-old beauty was spotted wearing a simple white T-shirt, denim shorts, and trainers in her campus at Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island. She showed how from a sitting position to magically raise yourself to standing without putting your hands on the ground, reports the Sun. Her friends apparently had a hearty laugh on seeing the trick.
She apparently looked happy and relaxed under the sun as she chilled with her friends. Watson also passed all her A-levels with straight A grades. She even believes that going to university will make her a better actress.
“I actually think going to university will make me a better actress,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying. She added: “It sounds so geeky, but I really do like studying and reading, and if I’m not working on Harry Potter, then my greatest relaxation is to sit with a book.”
Watson is taking a degree in literature. Watson is pursuing a degree in Literature at Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island.

Sophie Monk and Benji Madden called off their engagement over eighteen months ago (not long after the “Good Charlotte” guitarist struck up a romance with another petite blonde, Paris Hilton) and although things didn’t end well it sounds as though Mr. Madden is still pretty sour.
“I saw him the other day actually but he wasn’t as warm [or] welcoming [as] I was. I gave him a hug, but no arms came out, it was the worst! It was so embarrassing,” Monk told 2Day Fm’s Kyle & Jackie O in her native Australia last week. “I went out of my way to go to his table at dinner and everyone was looking at me so I was like, ‘Okie dokie, I’ll just back out.’ Then I had a couple of glasses of wine so I went back and did it again, I thought, ‘Oh hell, I don’t care, I’m bigger than this. I’ve got no issue with him.’ It didn’t work again so next time, I might not do that. I can’t do that though I’ll always say hello.”
Dating a rocker must have left a somewhat sour taste in Monk’s mouth as she’s now hooked up with a man out of the industry – kind of.
“He’s a doctor. A plastic surgeon doctor. I was like, I’ve only known him for six days and everyone’s going to pick me apart now even though I’ve had nothing done,” Monk added. “It’ll be like, ‘Oh he did this and that.’ My mum’s going to hit him up though, she’s like ‘What can he do for me?’”

Dealing with her older brother’s death hasn’t been easy for Janet Jackson, but she’s finally ready to talk about it.
In the 43-year-old singer’s first interview since Michael’s June 25th passing, Janet opens up in the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar about her pain, the grieving process and how the ordeal made her a stronger woman.
“People can have rhinoceros skin, but there’s a point when something’s going to hurt you,” she tells the magazine. “Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven’t watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, ‘How’s Obama doing?’ I haven’t read a newspaper.”
The last time Janet saw her brother alive was on May 14 at a family event two days before her birthday.
“We had so much fun that day,” she says in the interview. “We kept calling each other after and saying how great it was.”
Janet was in Atlanta, on the set of her upcoming Tyler Perry movie, when she heard the tragic news of her brother’s death.
She immediately flew back to Los Angeles to grieve with her family and was on hand for the memorial service at the Staples Center during which Michael’s daughter spoke.

“I was really proud,” she says. “People said to me that Michael’s daughter speaking really gave them a sense of how he was as a father, in her words. Paris is incredibly smart; they are all so smart. She’s a sweet girl. The kids are doing well. They’re with all their cousins; that family love will keep them going.”
In order to properly mourn the loss of her brother, Janet took a three day beach vacation and then threw herself into her new movie.
The grieving process taught Janet about her own strength too, which she attributes to her mother Katherine.
“Now at least I know that I can step up to the plate and not crumble when I’m needed,” she says. “When it comes to something like this that is so, so serious, so painful, so traumatic, I can handle it.”
Janet will honor her late brother Michael during a special appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.

Mary-Kate Olsen doesn’t seem to be paying much attention to tabloid reports about her recent weight gain. Olsen was at the Jane Hotel this week for a birthday party thrown by novelist Danielle Steele’s daughter, Victoria Traina, “chain-smoking and throwing back shots,” said a source. “She looked like she was having a good time.” Last week, Star magazine wrote a story about Olsen’s healthy weight gain, saying, “Bye-bye billion-dollar looks, hello bloat.”

It wasn’t quiet at the New York Public Library Tuesday night. While Kanye West, Liza Minnelli, Isaac Mizrahi, Lydia Hearst, Sean Lennon and Mischa Barton were rocking out to Queen Latifah at the Paper magazine-Hewlett Packard joint 25th anniversary party, diva starlet Lindsay Lohan caused a stir.
“Lindsay was calling her friends at the event and saying she would only show up to the party if Mark Ronson left,” said our source. No word on what happened next. Lohan, who dates Mark’s sister, Samantha Ronson, is probably still sore that the entire Ronson family has been trying to split them up.
Meanwhile, Paper’s cover boy, 25-year-old rapper Kid Cudi, was seen “darting up the stairs to confront a brunette.” Our spy said Cudi screamed at her, “You knew I’d be here and didn’t tell me? Who the hell do you think you are? You don’t return my calls? [Bleep] you!” Then he stormed off.

Pamela Anderson cut a still enviable figure in a tiny yellow bikini as she and her boyfriend surfer Jamie Padgett enjoyed a day on the beach.
And in the most unforgiving of bikinis she looked much younger than her 42-years…when seen from behind that is.
But the same could not be said when she revealed her tired, lined face and it seems that she only has herself to blame.
The 42-year-old revealed that she has no skincare routine – and amazingly never wears sunscreen, despite living in the Malibu sunshine.
Pamela went for maximum exposure in a Brazilian style bikini which barely covered her ass.

But when she turned around, it’s clear that her failure to use any kind of sun protection is having an ageing effect on her once youthful skin.
When viewed from behind, Pammy could easily pass for a much younger woman, but the fair-skinned actress showed signs of sun damage on her ageing face.
