Hip-hop performer DJ Jazzy Jeff says his weekend performance in Kansas City was stopped because of censorship, not race.

Jazzy Jeff left the stage during a Saturday show in the city’s downtown Power & Light District after saying venue managers didn’t like the type of music he was playing.

Power & Light District officials have said the music was too loud for the venue’s sound system.

But critics of the district’s handling of the show have suggested race played a role.

Jazzy Jeff told The Associated Press on Thursday that the incident involved censorship. He says show organizers didn’t like the “style of music” he was playing, but race wasn’t an issue.

The Cordish Co., which runs the district, has been criticized for its dress code, which some say targets young black men.

Love is in the air for Britney Spears!

After a string of failed relationships with paparazzo Adnan Ghalib and a devastating divorce from Kevin Federline, Britney Spears has finally found a new man.

Spears, 27, is reportedly dating her agent, Jason Trawick, People.com reports.

“They are totally and definitely dating,” the source says. “Her dad loves him. He’s the best thing that happened to her.”
The report ends months of speculation revolving around the couple’s questionably close relationship.

The singer is said to have “always had a crush” on Trawick, who happens to be one of her brother Bryan’s best friends.

The couple recently took a vacation in the Bahamas with her sons, Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2, in May.

“They’re very sweet together,” the source says. “He makes Britney really happy, and he’s great with the boys.”

Spears’s rep had no comment.

While in London, Beyonce Knowles reportedly took a caravan of cars to transport herself and her entourage across the street.
The singer, who was staying at the Madarin Oriental hotel in Hyde Park, left her abode to go shopping at the famed Harvey Nichols department store.

The request sounds easy enough. That is, until you see the distance between the two locations.

Harvey Nichols is located about 45 feet away from the singer’s hotel.

Instead of walking across the street, Beyonce, 27, took two vehicles full of bodyguards and personal assistants to drive down the road and make a U-turn in order to be dropped off in front of the store.

Sporting a jumpsuit, oversized sunglasses and Louis Vuitton heels, the singer was given a 20-minute guided tour around the department store.

As for after the shopping excursion?

The spectacle of cars took the same short route back to the hotel.

Alex Rodriguez’s real estate broker snagged him more than a fantastic apartment: He got the Yankee slugger his new girlfriend, Kate Hudson.

We hear that superagent Adam Modlin of NYC’s The Modlin Group suggested A-Rod might hit it off with fellow client Hudson - and Rodriguez jumped at the chance.

“Adam and Alex have been close friends for years,” reveals an insider. “They talk at least four or five times a day on the phone. Sometimes Alex will call him twice in an hour. Alex even flies Adam around on his private jet to spring training or games so they can hang out.”

Continues the source, “Adam has known Kate for a while, as well. He’s been showing her townhouses in the West Village for about a year now. He thought Alex and Kate would like one another, and sure enough, when they connected, it was a home run.

“The man knows love and where to find a posh condo! If Alex and Kate get married, at least they’ll know exactly who to call to find a place to live!” laughed the insider about Modlin, who very politely declined to comment when we contacted him.

According to a second source, A-Rod and Kate first met “in Miami at the Fountainebleau hotel opening in November ‘08 - Adam introduced them. The first five to 10 minutes of their conversation was about Adam. At the time, A-Rod was all about Madonna.”

But when the Material Mom ventured off into greener pastures - aka Brazilian model Jesus Luz - A-Rod reconnected with Kate, and their love match is now sizzling. Eyewitnesses were shocked at the couple’s chemistry after a recent PDA-heavy display at 40/40 club (where A-Rod is a part owner).

“Alex was holding Kate’s hand the whole time and stealing kisses whenever he could,” says a snitch. “He is so into her and doesn’t even mind when his friends tease him about her.”

The beauty is all about her baseball hunk as well, and even wants to become more knowledgeable about his craft. According to reports, Hudson has hired a baseball expert to teach her “the finer points of the game.”

Looks like A-Rod has found a girl who’s into his game - what we’d call a real diamond in the rough!

For a newly single man, Kanye West sure is spending a lot of time with his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose. Despite his publicist’s claim to Page Six that they’re no longer a couple, Rose showed up at the rapper’s birthday party at the Spotted Pig Monday night, along with part owner Jay-Z, Young Jeezy, Ivanka Trump and Charlie Rose. She and West were also photographed shopping at an American Apparel on Broadway on Tuesday.
