Rihanna is back - on the red carpet, at least.

The pop singer arrived Monday at the annual Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum gala in New York. It was her first such appearance since then-boyfriend Chris Brown allegedly beat her in February.

Rihanna arrived in black - including both the SUV and her Dolce and Gabbana suit and bow tie. She was the last celebrity to walk the carpet and did not speak with press.

“Vogue” editor Anna Wintour once again hosted the gala, which this year served as the kickoff to “The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” exhibit. Kate Moss co-chaired the event with Justin Timberlake.

Guests included Madonna, Victoria Beckham and designer Stella McCartney with her muses: Kate Hudson and Liv Tyler.

Jessica on whether Newlyweds caused the demise of her marriage to Nick Lachey: “In all honesty, I believe it did not affect our marriage, Because we enjoyed watching those episodes, and that will always be a time I cherish. It made me understand what marriage is, what love is, what commitment is.”

Jessica on her current relationship with Nick: “I have not spoken to him in years.”

Jessica on her weight being documented by tabloids: “It comes with what I do and I know that every day the media’s going to challenge me, is going to want to bring me down. But I feel like I’m at such a place that I own myself, and it’s authentic. I own that authentic part of myself, and none of those words are harsh enough to make me believe them. I can’t imagine saying some of the things people have said about me about anybody else.”

Jessica on papa Joe Simpson: “If I’m going for advice for anything in my life, I go straight to my father because he has the answers. I can talk to my dad like he’s my manager, and put ‘Dad’ on the back burner. We’ve been doing it since I was 13. So, at this point, we’re in a good rhythm. A lot of people find it strange, but it’s the only way I know. And I don’t care to know another way, because it suits me. And we’ve done a pretty dang good job.”

Jessica on the current poltical landscape in America: “I think it’s definitely time for change. And I am very supportive of our president, and I believe that he’s going to do remarkable things.”

Jessica on being called a jinx on boyfriend Tony Romo’s football career: “Can’t help it. But we don’t let it affect our relationship. If we did, we wouldn’t be together, because it happened at the very beginning. Dating the Cowboys quarterback comes with hype, the fans, the bloggers, but I’ve never dated a guy that was more simple. I’m always there for him after a game, and he knows he has me to come home to.”

Jessica on keeping the faith: “I’m spiritual. I live off the faith that has been instilled in me, that has never left. I’ve never let a stumbling block actually make me fall. We all go through trials, but not one thing has ever made me question God. I have a great relationship with God. I can talk to him, get mad at him, frustrated with him. But, ultimately, my faith is what defines me.”

Jessica on her career crossroad: “There will always be another opportunity, another door to walk through.”

Madonna is still appealing, but her appeal just got a whole heck of a lot more difficult. The Malawi kid that Madonna want’s have care takers raise in America apparently has a father. Who woulda thought??? here is more from People.

“I want to take care of her, and I’m capable of taking care of my baby,” James Kambewa told CBS’s The Early Show in an interview to air Monday, the same day the court will hear Madonna’s appeal of the rejected adoption.
“Mercy, she is a Malawian, so [I] need her to grow as a Malawian … with our culture,” he said.
The hearing in Madonna’s appeal case will be led by the head of the judiciary in Malawi. The southern African country’s High Court had previously rejected her application to adopt Mercy Chifundo James.
In his interview, Kambewa tells The Early Show that he’s never met his daughter and has only seen her “in newspapers and TV, not face to face.”

But America rules. That’s what this African man fails to realize. Rest assured, Madonna will let him know as the process continues. Madonna, I think it might be time to throw in the towel on this one. Or throw another african kegger and try to garner support that way. Hey, always works for me. When your’ former supermodel, most beautiful woman ever, wife is starting to get old, time to start trying to make out with your waitresses that work for you. At least if you are Rande Gerber, that is. Check out more in Us Magazine this week.

A lawsuit was filed in March in San Diego County Superior Court, Usmagazine.com confirms, by a pair of former waitresses. According to TMZ.com, which first broke the news, the women claimed they were fired from a restaurant owned by Gerber’s company for refusing to give in to the advances of Gerber and other managers where they worked.
On one occasion in 2008, while working at the Moonstone Lounge in San Diego, one of the women claims the supermodel’s husband attempted to kiss her three times during the night, then “put his hand up [her] dress in between her legs in an attempt to fondle her crotch,” TMZ reports.

The women are reportedly suing for unspecified damages.

Before this, I thought Rande Gerber was just a jerk off for the way he spelled his first name, but now this may take the cake. Actually, come to think of it, the name is pretty hard to beat. What do Robert Schimmel and Chris Brown have in common? Ok, I won’t try that, but I figured since Robert Schimmel is a comedian, I’d lead with a joke, but then I remembered, I’m not really funny. So….Robert Schimmel was arrested this morning for hitting his wife during an argument. Schimmel was divorced 3 times by the same woman until he decided to hook up with his daughters best friend, and then marry her. She’s like half his age.More from TMZ.

Cops got a call to come to Schimmel’s Calabasas home at around 12:30 AM. They observed physical marks on his wife. Law enforcement tells us there was an argument that allegedly turned violent.

Here’s a little not to Mr. Schimmel. When you upgrade your wife situation to one that is basically in college (or whatever), you try to hang on to them, not beat down on them. Kinda lame bro. Anyways, no picture fo the wife have surfaced yet, but when they do, you can bet your sweet bottom (hey, work safe here!) that I will have them.

Hayden Panettiere attended the Star Trek premier, and before I get to the meat of this story, its important to understand that Trekkies, by nature, could never get a chick as hot as Hayden Panettiere.
